Only giving us two to choose from? Lucky my favouritist fantasy creature is in there really
Im a dragon lover at heart, always have been, always will be. Such majestic creatures, beautiful and so incredibly powerful. So dangerous and yet, at other times, so caring and kind. It all just depends on the author's personal viewpoint. For me theres just no comparing dragons and elves. Elves are people only more "perfect" whereas dragons are something else completely. Theyr so different, so foreign from anything in our world. Love 'em *Snuggles da dragons*

Gotta agree with Morry on this one - dragons. It could be sadistic raw instinctual dragons like in Reign of Fire, or could be civilized intelligent dragons like Draco in Dragonheart.

Elves are the way to go. More specifically Wood Elves.

Elves are more civilized, I would think, but dragons give me a sense of wonder and amazement, so I'm sticking with dragons.

Dragons! Now with my nickname what else do you expect me to say? I agree with everything that Moret said about dragons. Wonderful creatures!
It's a reall shame that they employed a really terrible Public Relations firm in the Dark Ages/Medieval times. They really did an appalling job and now everyone thinks that dragons are horrible creatures that eat maidens on a regular basis. Couldn't be further from the truth and I'm glad that at long last dragons are receiving the attention that they have long deserved.

Well, sometimes it's elves and sometimes it's dragons. I really can't choose between the other. I find them both fascinating.

Depends on the movie and game I would go with Dragons ,they just look cool when they fly and breath fire.

Dragons are probably the most mysterious mythical creatures ever created. Aside from the fact there usually aren't very many of them in most fantasy works, they are reserved for legend which makes them fascinating from the off. Because of this elusiveness, fantasy authors can compose their own dragons in whatever phantasm they see fit. Moreta gives a pretty good outline of how different dragons in fantasy can be.
So dragons are very versatile and combining that with their powerful legacy, they are one of the most alluring creatures I've ever read about. My first meeting with a dragon was in The Hobbit, and the fascination for them has continued from there.
I must admit this is a strange topic; it's difficult to directly compare dragons and elves, they are two completely different things in the context of fantasy.
