I'm in the middle of The Subtle Knife again (our library is closed and I have no new books to read) and I started reading Sabriel today.

Every once in a while I read "The Hobbit" and LOTR. There is nothing better. As for what other fantasy novels I read, I can only tell you which I would LIKE to read but haven't yet: "Narnia". Ages ago, I saw "The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe" on TV and ever since wanted to go and get those 7 books of Narnia but haven't done it yet.

Lady Vader--I believe you will enjoy Brook's series. That was my first fantasy series ever, and it shaped my love of the genre. He is very good. To all--I just purchased Paul S. Kemp's TEXTResurrection TEXT yesterday. This is the 6th book in R.A. Salvatore's drow series. So far it is not bad. Mr. Kemp does take chances, which I like. He has used some...racy language and went to extreme in describing TEXTCorpsehaven TEXT. Other than that, it it progressing quite well. Stephen S. Arend www.ssarend.com/

Well, I finished RESURRECTION this weekend, and I will say this: Paul Kemp can really write some graphic battle scenes. It reminding me of splatter punk. His character development was great, but he killed my last remaining favorite character, so I was not too happy about that. All in all, it was a good read.
If you like gore, check it out.

I just finished the Scions of Arrabar trilogy and it was good. The writer had too many sexual interludes by the main character (something I thought strange while his friends were dying, his life was on the line, and his family needes saving), but all-in-all it was a good trilogy. Has anyone read this?

I've finally broken down and started the "Witch World" set by Andre Norton.
For what it is worth, her earlier work on the series leaves something to be desired. On the other hand, the more recent stuff (80's) is much better. I figure it must be one of two things:
01) As a new female author, her editors said, "this kind of story line works, so stick with it."
02) As she became better at writing (or matured), so too did her stories.
If you can handle it, don't read her work in order of publication. You will (I would think anyway) become disgusted very early on and throw the whole set down. =/

At the present I'm halfway through The Fellowship of the Ring, I've only just had time recently to begin reading, and I can't believe how different it is from the movies. After I've read the all of the books I'm planning on reading eragon and eldest.

Hmmm.... I am reading many books today that I confuse titles. But I do remember the one with many sorcerers. Something like HP but darker.
