So what fantasy novel are you reading right now? Currently I'm working my way through A Storm of Swords by George R.R. Martin. Its a wonderful read and I highly recommend it to anyone. Its a very different epic fantasy. Its more historical (even though its set in a different world) in nature than fantasy. Very gritty and real with compelling believable characters.

Any news on the fourth book that you've heard of?
Anyways, I'm desperately trying to get through the first hundred pages of Gardens of the Moon by Steven Erikson. I know it gets awesome at some point, but I can't bring myself to get there.

FL I checked on Martin's website yesterday and he has simply said he's almost done and hopes to have it completed by the end of the year. No real time table on when the book will be published though. Its a shame its taken him so long but oh well.
I still have to read Gardens of the Moon myself. I'm going to be reading it once I'm done with Storm of Swords.

I'm currently reading Lirael by Garth Nix. I haven't read the first book, Sabriel yet, though.

Ember its good to see you're about to complete LOTR (if you haven't already) Its a great series and IMO is the best ever written.
I'm almost done with A Storm of Swords but its such a long book lol. Over 1000 pages. Its very very good though and I highly recommend that fantasy series to anyone. Its awesome.

Hmm, I finished Lirael at half midnight this morning. I now need to read Abhorsen, then Sabriel.

I just started reading Terry Brooks' "The Sword of Shannara" trilogy a couple of days ago. It seems like an interesting book, but I think it's too early to form an opinion since I've only had time to read a few pages so far.

Well I finished A Storm of Swords a couple of weeks ago. It was fantastic! I'm currently reading Gardens of the Moon by Steven Erikson. All I can say is I haven't read about a world as complex and intriguing since Middle Earth. He's really that good.
