Now here's something to look into, The Sun. I have a feeling that this isn't all too true. The show is a ratings winner, why kill the goose that lays the golden eggs? Well, you know the song, the show must go on, and I think it will. I've never trusted "The Sun" anyway.

If there were more than one source and it was on their website that the show will be axed then I would believe it. I didn't realise it took so long just to create 13 episodes lasting 45 minutes.

I'm not all that surprised really, the BBC are wanting to concentrate on more of the classical *cough* 'quality' stuff they are better known for around the world ( plus the Government said they couldn't expect as bigger rise in the TV licence as they had wanted, which I ruddy well begrudge paying seeing as I never watch BBC ... )

The Digital Spy link doesn't really say anywhere about Dr Who yet and the other one says "likely to" but has very muched based it's report of another IE The Sun, which i agree is a rag of a paper, and i wouldn't trust.

If it's work load their complaining about, they don't know they're born. During the 1960s, one season of Doctor Who would last up to 44 weeks! And they also had less money to work with too! So really, that's the stress bit out of the picture too. Plus, there's the ratings I mentioned too, they're not down yet.

I don't think it's about making it better, IMO it can't get any better, but i bet it does take a big budget to maket it also. Especially with the kind of stuff The Mill does when they dop all the effects.

And I say, what's wrong with using old fashioned effects techniques? They're cheaper and if done properly they can look authentic. Personally, I think they could cut down on some of the CGI effects, as not all of them look authentic, whereas the traditional equivalent might carry more of an air of credibility to it, in my opinion.

It's called progress. I don't think the equivalent would be that convincing in all honesty, some of the stuff the Mill does is pretty awesome, for me there's realivly few times it's unconvincing.

Ah, traditional SFX is a dying art. If you practice enough and do it right, you can create something that looks more realistic than CGI. Plus Traditional effects only cost half of what CGI does in the end, three quarters at most I should say.
