"The Creeds have just moved to a new house in the countryside. Their house is perfect, except for two things: the semi-trailers that roar past on the narrow road, and the mysterious cemetary in the woods behind the house. The Creed's neighbours are reluctant to talk about the cemetary, and for good reason too."

I loved this movie as a kid, and still think this is a great movie. I recently ordered it from Netflix to watch again as I hadn't seen it in about 10 years.
The whole idea just works for me; the creation of the pet sematary due to the busy road, the Micmac Indian burial ground, and even the ghost that tried to talk sense into Louis Creed.
I noticed a few things about this movie when I watched it last, things I didn't notice as a kid:

When Gage comes back, he is dressed like Zelda, the sister who died of spinal meningitis. The whole scene of the warped house of Jud, and Rachel hearing and seeing Zelda before Gage killed her finally made sense to me. This happened because Zelda's spirit was with the evil spirit in the resurrected Gage, and she was trying to get revenge on Zelda for killing her.
I never thought about it before, but the Indian burial ground was more like an entity, and evil spirit more than it was just a place where the dead come back.
But yeah, the whole movie worked for me. Gage was frightening in the end, and it was really sad when his dad had to put him to sleep. That's a horror I cannot even comprehend if I was in Louse's place
