So as not to hi-jack the other thread.
This thread is for me and Myke, but if anyone remembers it feel free to join in. So what did you like about it.
As i said in the other thread i saw this film when i was 9/10 years old and it left a lasting impression, so much so that it's in my top 10 films ever. My sister and I still joke and refernce the film.
Being that age and having that opening scene in the cafe with all the throught cuts was an eye opener at that age! Mind-you i watched so many horror films {Having been a STephen King book junkie also in my pre-teens} that i think i just became de-sensitized to blood and gore in films!
The music also made this film a it was so eerie, in note the opening theme. Sure the film looks a little dated now, especially the effect's with Isaac's crucifxition to He WHo Walks Behind The Rows coming for him, but i still love this film.
"Sacralige! Down on your knees heretic!" "Shut your mouth, cos if you wanna fight you fight for us!" "Don't just stand there! Seize him! Cut him down! Your punishment shall be a thousand times worse, each more horrible than the last!" "They're tired of your talk Isaac, I've shown them what I can do. Cut Jospeh down... Put Issac in his place!"

I kind of hijacked the Christine thread. I wrote: " I haven't seen Children of the Corn for a long time either, but remember as a kid in school a few friends and I would only see each other in art class, and we'd always get in trouble because the teacher was kind of a push-over so we'd act like the corn kids until she finally had enough. She had never seen the movie so naturally she thought we were trying to be satan worshipers."
I cannot remember when I first saw this movie. From my mind's perspective, it seems like I've always known a time when I've seen this movie. It came out in 1984, so I probably first saw it when I was 5 years old. My mom was, and still is a horror junkie, and she too loves Stephen King movies, her favorite is The Stand. So when I was a kid, she'd invite one of her horror junkie friends over and they would always watch scary movies, which I watched as well. Due to that, like you Bones, I was a bit desensitized, but remember being really nervous for the two little good kids who were playing Monopoly; I forget their names, Sarah was the girl I think. I also remember being a bit nervous when they entered the town that was abandoned. The gore from the cafe didn't bother too much, it was just the suspense and the 'what if's' of the film that put me on edge as a kid.

Sarah and Job And of course Courtney Gains{?} who played Malachi had a very different look to him with his big pouty lips and long ginger hair! What did make me jump when i first saw it was not actually a gore scene but a "jump" moment when they're exploring the old house where Job & sarah used to play 3 years earlier and after looking at one of the drawings Burt exits a room, or maybe it was Vicky, and runs into the other one.

I saw this as a film .. and I remember not understanding the whole "religious" aspect to it ..
Everytime I drive by a field of corn .. I always think about the movie
