ClickA long while ago, a member on my site linked me to this very good article. It provides some scientific explanations to some of the stuff that goes on in the movies. I am particularly fond of the explanation he gices to Neo's coming back from the dead in the first movie.

This is fantastic! It helps make a lot of things make sense! Now I don't have to say to myself "It's just one of those things you never know" when it comes to certain aspects of the films (like the red pill, the bioports, etc) I'm currently reading the first half of it, but will come back and comment when finished (have to go to bed now ).

This is brilliant. It shows that the Washiclieahidiadi ( ) brothers obviously did their research. The bioport explaination is just fascinating, but at the same time scary, because it shows that it is entirely possible that a world like the Matrix could exist, that it can be done. The part about the red pill is just brilliant, I love it. The fact that the silver liquid symbolises the red liquid in the tube that Neo "lives" in outside the Matrix is fantastic. And how the red pill kills the matrix signals to Neo's brain, and that the sentinel finds Neo because hes's been "ejected" from the Matrix. And the entering and exiting the Matrix, ... wow. Brilliant. It echoes a belief of mine, how if nobody is observing a room, does the room exist? Do the objects inside it, the chairs, tables, books, etc, all start to float around or do things of their own free will? How do we know they don't? If we aren't there to see it happening, we can't rule out that it's not happening.

Aye, a really fascinating article. Lol, I thought I was the only one who couldn't spell the director's name I've always seen things this way: they did a ton of research, but only took key things and put them in the movies, leaving the audiences doing the backwards work to reconstruct the research they did so they could understand the movie. I'm not sure about one thing though: it says that for a rebel to enter or exit the Matrix they need an unobserved space, however we see them leave in observed spaces, not just once: Trinity in the phone booth in front of Agent Smith, Morpheus and Trinity at the subway in front of that homeless person which later materializes into Smith.

That's a very good point about how they leave the Matrix in the subway. That was one of the first things that jumped to my mind when I read about that part. I always thought that all the people in the Matrix who the Smiths take over where just random programs stationed all over that the agents had placed so they could move about the Matrix faster. But then again, even a program would be observing them when they exit the Matrix, and as you pointed out, Trinity at the start leaves the Matrix while being observed. Perhaps they should have thrown in some de-ja-vu at the end scene to point out a glitch in the Matrix, to see if anybody got it. Ah well.

As Morpheus puts it, anyone who hadn't been freed can be taken over by an Agent. If it hand't been for this small flaw the theory would have been perfect. Or maybe we didn't get it right (which is unlikely though)

Yeah, it is possible they forgot for just those two small scenes. I mean, it happens. Nothing's perfect. Yesterday i was watching some guy point out mistakes in the first movie - unbelievable that he picked them up - they were things like when Neo is talking to his boss at the start, his hands keep moving from in front ot behind. And then when they go and see the Oracle, when the camera zooms in on the door handle, you can see the camera reflecting in the handle. It was just small things that you would never notice otherwise

It was just small things that you would never notice otherwise movie-mistakes.com has huge lists of mistakes for all three movies. It's annoying really, because there are mistakes which no normal person would notice when watching the movie, you'd have to study every frame.

Yeah. I mean, those sort of mistakes aren't really mistakes because nobody notices them! Well they are mistakes but still. The article talks about concioussness and the Matrix (the last part) which I'll talk about in here because i can't be bothered going back to the other page where we were talking about it This points out very cleary how the brain does not need to be conciouss too attain intelligence. Think about it. Even when we sleep our brains are working, in fact they are working hardest when we are asleep. The Matrix ports affect the parts of the brain that does not require concioussness to digest information and accept the Matrix. It's like when you see someone getting plugged in, their eyes just close involuntary (when the upload button is pushed). So they are going to sleep, the Matrix's first program sent to the brain must tell their brain to shut off concioussness, just like when the avatar dies it tells the body to die, so as to allow the information about the Matrix's illusion to be digested by the brain and thus allow the Matrix to be created in the brain.

Yeah Interesting. Didn't remember that part of the article too well.
