An intriguing prospect. The question is, what sort of roleplaying would we be striving for? Some sort of amalgamated hodge-podge of sci-fi-dom, or what?

NOt sure..would have to be up to the board as a whole and Myke. though I think twould be a good idea to let people post in the 'thread/world' they want too, just use the threads as the different worlds.

well...I already suggested in the anime forum that if people were interested I would run a robotech story for people to roleplay in. i also have an entire message board set up for a star trek role playing game...i set it up a while ago but only got one person from the captains table to join and they never posted. so if anyone wants star trek i have a whole board for that. otherwise just let us know what u all may want. i wouldnt suggest too many threads as it does take a while to keep up on all the stories.

The games would be up to you guys, as you'd be the DM's so to speak. It would likley go in one forum, with different threads for different games. For example, a Matrix RPG would all go into the Matrix rpg thread, LOTR would all go in the LOTR thread. There could be sperate threads for OOC discussion concerning the game, and the direction of it, but ultimalty it is up to you guys. If you guys only want an Anime RPG, then there's no reason why it can't go in the Anime forum, unless you guys want a seperate forum, but mutiple RPGs should be in thier own forum, to keep things organized and easier for new members/RPGers to find.
Persoanlly, I think it's a great idea, and would increase the quality of Temporal Reality, but it's your all's call.

it's a good idea....but I think we should rotate them probably. just run one rpg at a time because it would be hard for one person to post in one rpg and also keep the story running in an rpg that they are in control of....i know how easy it is to get spread too thin....I run like 5 boards of my own...though they arent that busy....plus post here and in the captains table....and sometime it seems like u run out of time to post all the things u want to..lol

I know exactly what you mean, I myself am struggeling to find time for other foums outside of TR that I belong to, such as The Captain's Table, The Last Outpost, ect.
As for mutiple RPGs though, if someone wants to attempt to start up a new one, for example, if there was an Anime one, and someone wanted to try and start a Matrix one, I'm not gonna tell them they can't. I'd suggest a recruiting thread, so to speak, to see who's gonna participate, make up character profiles, ect.
If you guys really want this, and it will stay active I'll make it.
I dont mind making boards at all, and hope there is demand for many more in the months and years to come, I started off with very few boards, as we will grow as we continue. Alot of people make 3,000 boards to start off, and find hhalf of thier forum is unactive, I think it's better to expand as we grow, thus please feel free to offer any board requests in the future. I highlet encourage people to use the suggestions/feedback forum as this site belongs to us all!

I was interested in the Robotech RP that you sugested in the other forum Wolf. I think would be good to have only one or two going at a time unless we get enough people interested that they wanna help with it. I know how it is to get spread thin, I am running 2 D&D games, a Cthulhu Game AND 2 Freeform Games based on the movie Dawn of the Deadand HALO, on the side, useing the d100 system..lol.. but those groups meet independantly of each other and I keep notes on each game, I also have one person from each game who keeps track of the parties adventures, they are the croniclers..lol..anyways thats my two cents worth on it ..lol

no..i wouldnt say they can;t make it though....but yes i would do the recruiting thing....so u can find who will actually have tiome to keep posting in the story and keep it active and so on....don;t want to have an rpg just die in mid story...

I think that using a recruiting thread is an excellent idea, I also think that if someone who is running a character in the RP should be required to post atleast once every two or three days unless they have a valid reason for halting the RP by thier absence, which could be posted in the recuiting thread. There are also other ways to address the issue of sparse posters.. they could either be NPCed by an agreed upon party or there could be an IC reason they are absent at that point.
Plus you won't nessicarrily -have- to have a GM/DM/ST to offer scenarios for each game, The RPers could build thier story as they see fit with a Mod being called in to judge on points of contention.
thats my '2 cents worth' again ..lol and don't worry..I am running you guys a line of credit.. no need to mail me a check just yet for my multiple '2 cents worth' of opnions ,,lol

Actually, I can require anyone to post x amount of times per week. I feel everyone should post at thier own disgression. Before I opened up Temporal Reality, I ran a wrestling related web site for people, and they had a huge E-Fed RPG. One of the perks that set that E-Fed apart from many others was the fact that people was able to post at thier own will.
Another thing is, i'm part of an RPG on The Last Outpost, and I post in it at my will. If I was required to post a certain amount of times a week in it I would have never of joined it, for some days I feel like participating, and others I do not.
AS for the stroy, I've found on online RPGs it's more fun to make it up as you go along, as opposed to be stuck on strict dorections. While I think direction is important, I feel there also needs to be the freedom of creative direction.
I'm not sure what you mean by a mod being called in to judge points of contntion.

yea...I really think to prevent a lot of hassle u need the main story teller in there to move the story along and react to the responses of the players....if u leae it up to them ur asking for problems....well....I will post a thread in the anime forum asking for people who want to play a robotech rpg maybe....unless u want to create a board for it...and then we can go from there....see if anyone is interested...

What I meant was for people who play charcaters that are god like and can never be hurt or never be defeated and that leaves other peoples chars in a bad way . So maybe the Mod for that particular board could make a judgement call of what they think is fair if there is a dispute. lol maybe.
