Ok, so what's your favourite science fiction TV theme? And why? Mine's the Doctor Who theme tune, mainly because it has a subtle eeiryness to it that I like. Also I think it has a good bass rhythm to it and you've to to admire the opening bars to it. So, over to you.

Of the current shows, I would have to say Battle Star Galactica. The eeriness of the score seems to fit every scene perfectly. For past shows, it would be Babylon 5. Every episode was individually scored and seemlessly set the mood.

Doctor Who, without a doubt. Specifically, the 1985 version of the theme.

I have to agree with The Thinker and Chris3123, Dr. Who's theme tune is excellent. Although it's been updated over the years yes, I remember the very time the theme was aired on BBC, and there was only one BBC channel at that time, it has still retained the main theme which has always had the subtle eeriness while giving an indication of something futuristic.

The only Sci-Fi Tv show I've ever watched was Star Wars so I'm going with that theme ;D It was kind of a nice beat and rythm

While I do like the various incarnations of the Doctor Who theme, I really like the theme for Quantum Leap.

It's a toss up between the theme from Quantum Leap and the theme from Farscape.

I can' t quite decide between Star Trek TOS theme or Battlestar Galactica TOS. Both have wonderful music.

With Doctor who - I loved the longer version they had in the end titles with the first Tennant series. I liked it already with Eccleston as the Doctor, nice modern interpretation with still being true to the classic. But with Tennant onwards, during they end titles (And this is hard to explain), they had a kind of orchestral break in the middle it lasted all of twenty seconds if that, but that made me completely fall in love with the theme.
Hate the thunderous drums/beat at the beginning these days, they didn't need to make it upbeat and disco - it's not a drum n bass single!
