Anyone else here want to see this movie as much as I do
I went and saw a movie today with my kids(god I hate shrek, but I guareentee a HUGE opening weekend for this movie going by the theaters I saw that were playing it), but one of the previews was for "Day after Tomorrow" and this was a long 2-3 minute promo for the film and the scenes they showed makes the movie look great.
I just hope its not like "Deep Impact" where they showed the entire movie in the previews

I havent been to the movies in such a long time, but 'The Day After Tomorrow' is a MUST SEE for me, and I will go to this movie no matter what. And yes, like you Mike I too hope it isnt like Deep Impact, I was disapointed when all of the good stuff that happened was the same things they showed in the previews.

Thats the latest trend in Hollywood, to do a worldwide release of movies now, to try and curb piracy.

By saying its run is over, I mean where there are lines and shit waiting to see the movie. I want the hoopla for Shrek to have died down by the time "Day" comes out, otherwise the movie may not do as well as they could have had it been released later or sooner is what I am saying. A strong movie has been known to kill other good movies in the box office.
I went and saw Shrek 2 last night with the kids, and I am glad I ordered the tickets online at the theater a week before, because when we got the theater, it was showing on 4 screens(out of 16) and had sold out signs on everything past 7:30 pm (including the one that I paid for online).

There were lines here for Shek 2 as well, we drove past the theatres, and it looked like a Disney parade downtown. I'll likely be seeing it the day before I see 'Day After Tomorrow' I also think it's good for us on Temporal Reality that movies are comming out worldwide at once, it helps us not give spoilers away to our over sea friends!

well...I think day after tomorrow will be coming out while the shrek hoopla is still going on...the thing is...they cater to 2 totally diff groups of people in general....except for me...i like both...but in general its the kids seeing shrek...and the aduls seeing day after so I really see no big competition

I am anxiously awaiting this film as well but probably won't see it till it hits DVD. They showed a 10 minute preview for the film like 2 weeks ago after That 70s Show on Fox and it looks very good. Trust me the best scenes WERE NOT in the little trailer you all have seen. It promises to be at least better than Deep Impact was. Its funny you all mention the box office lines. On my site we have this box office game where I name a movie and everyone takes a guess as to how much it will pull in over the first weekend. We did Shrek 2 this weekend and one guy said $70 mill. Next week I plan on doing Day After Tomorrow. I think it would be a neat game to have going here too!
Day After Tomorrow does look to be a promising crisis film but I wish they had've picked a better title. It just sounds too cliche to me. lol!
