Well, as it turns out, Sci-Fi re-aired the first half of the mini series last night, and will air the conclusion tonight. In anticipation to this Friday's debut of the series, I looked it up on TVGuide.com. It looks like at 8:30 PM EST, Sci-Fi will air a documentary on the new series, then at 9PM EST we get the debut. The sypnosis gives a basic background of the original series, and talks this new series up with phrases like: "Lighyears beyond the original". They then say that Cylon infiltration impels Adema to take ruthless action against a passenger ship, and later, Boumer fears she somehow turned saboteure after an explosion drains the water supply. I can't wait.

Well...they aired the first 2 episodes last night....and I have to say it is a pretty good series.....the plot is already starting to get pretty involved and leaves you wondering about a lot of things. It is a very dark and gritty drama and lots of tough choices have to be made...like sacrificing some people to ensure the survival of others....and Richard Hatch is making an appearance in the next episode even....I kind of hope he has a recurring role. ;D

Maaaan, the new BG is just crappy as far as I'm concerend. I wasn't around for the original, and taking a peek at the re-airing - meh...
The series was WAY too choppy for my taste, and when I say choppy I mean they cut to different scenes entirely too fast! It's like the show had ADD, for real, and I find that annoying. Took me right out.
I'm supposed to get emotionally involved with a show, and I wasn't. At all. Perhaps it was the camera work or lighting.... something ain't right with something. And too many "WTF" moments for my brain to process... most things can be great if in moderation. Thank you sci-fi, as if I need another reason to not like you anymore.
(Val - this ain't got nothing to do with Blade!)

I feel aweful for you PurpleEyes, I LOVED the shows, they were as good as the mini Series. Did you get to see the mini series? Without seeing it, I imagine there were a lot of things that didn't make much sense. The camera changed a lot, because there is like 5 or 6 sub plots taking place at once, along side the main plot. There are a ton of characters. But yeah, I loved the shows. Like Wolf said it is a really dark series, which if anyone knows me, they I think the darker the better. I love the tough choices presented to the BSG crew and the President, and how morals are all involved. I love the fact one of the mian characters is in fact a Cylon on board the Galactica. I love how Doctor Baltor conspired unknowingly to help the Cylons, and how parinoid he gets when he thinks he is going to be discovered. You know they will shoot him out of an airlock if they knew the truth, lol. Both episodes has been as good as the mini series was, and both lived up to my expectations. ConqueringWolf discovered an article that they already had a green light for season two, and the writers already know pretty much how season 2 is gonna go. Long term planning, that is fantastic!

Hey! Let's see you deal with the opening of a new Casino and a wife working 60 hour weeks and try to find time to watch something she wont even concider watching on TV Now that that's over, I got to watch them ;D I'm not sure if I like it or not. We'll see. It has potential, but so far it seems really slow moving, I don't like the way the camera moves around when filming some one close up in a conversation, I'm still not so sure about Starbuck being a woman, and I have to agree with Purpl Eyes that it jumps around to much I do like the special effects. The Vipers are awesome! The Galactica looks ten times better than in the first series, the Cylon ships look waaaay cool, and all in all, it just looks better as a show than most out there right now I think after it goes for a bit and we all get to know the characters better it will be a great show. But right now, I'm gonna stay on the fense about it Kapt~`'-

Oh yeah I saw the miniseries and that's where all that came from. After the first few hours, I wasn't gripped but the desire to see it through made me keep watching until it ended. But I did find it weird that that woman became President when she was like, what, 43rd in line? Ouch, the human race is getting their asses kicked... just let the Cylons win and be done with it.

If you remember Kapt, DS9 started off slow too, and once we knew all of the characters, it took off! And PurpleEyes, yes, that is one of the things I love about it, the Humans are getting thier butts kicked. I also like how the president is keeping a count of how many people are left on the dry erase board. That brings me to another point, the dry erase board, the 20th century looking clocks, the ships that are desgned like airplanes inside, nuclear warheads as opposed to some fictional weapon. I love how they have done that, took everyday items out of our reality, and incorporated them into a futursistic sci fi series set eons ago!!

That's exactly why I'll keep watching it for a while Kapt~`'- I agree it is a little slow, but there is something about it that fascinates me, and keeps my intrest. For one, I love the story of it all, with the humans basically running from the Cylons, all seems doomed and dark, my kind of show! I also enjoy seeing how they react to thier impending doom, and love to get to know the characters of any show that I enjoy.
