Has anyone else seen the previews to this? It's a Sci Fi Channel Original Series startiong in January. I've seen the commercial a couple times and so far it looks waaay cool. Does anyone have any information about this new series? Is it a continuation of the mini series from last year? Is it something new? Is Starbuck still a girl? Anyone?

From what I know it's going to be a continuation of the mini series they had a while back...and will have all the same characters. It might be ok......but I am a Battlestar traditionalist and i foind it very annoying how they have changed the cylons on the new show.

I think Wolf is right, it is going to be a continueation from the mini series that aired last year.
I think it looks GREAT, and I am really looking forward to it. See, I never grew up with the original series, so whatever changes are made to the new series dosent bother me at all.
I watched the mini series last year, and thought it was pretty damn good, and I have high hopes for the new series set to air in January!!

I grew up watching the original BSG. But I haven't seen it for so many years that I don't remember it. When I do see it, I can't believe how cheesey it was

That's why I can't get into it Kapt. I never even seen any part of an episode, let alone an episode untill a few months ago when a friend made me promise to watch it, lol. Having not grown up with it, it was a bit too cheesy for me to get into to. ;D

It was extremely cheesy. But it was that or TOS re-runs for the 13763 time. We watched it and we liked it. And we watched the TOS reruns, too. When I think of what a dry spell the early 80s were in terms of SF on TV...I wonder I didn't slit my wrists.
Then again, that probably helps explain why I have so many cubic feet of shelf space devoted to SF books...Wall space? WHAT wall space?

LOL, the 80's was pretty cheesy. I think the 80's was the 'horror' decade, with shows like Freddy's Nightmares, Tales From the Darkside, ect. as opposed to the sc-fi decade like the 90's were, with all of the Star Treks, Stargates, X-Files, ect.

Check your list twice and made sure I'm on there, lol. I'm sure BSG was great for it's time, but is just cheesy, lol. The new series, if it's anything like the mini series of last year, is anything but cheesy.

I'm looking forward to it. Oh, just so you know, it has already started airing on Sky One. It began October 18th. We Americans still have to wait until January, though. Oh well. Also, NBC will re-air the original miniseres on Saturday, January 8th. They will be showing a slightly edited version (It's cut down to 3 hours from the original four). So if you missed it before, you can catch it then.
