WOK of course....although i like them all. i loved how they reintroduced a character from TOS in the movie. I loved how he had a grudge against Kirk....he was supersmart and was a real challenge to kirk....you got to see kirk as human and very vulnerable at times...you got to see 2 starships battle each other for the first time....kirk has a son....spock dies....what else could u ask for in a movie?

Wrath of Khan.
It has the best plot of any movie and it was so unpredictable at te end.
Reading Shatners movie memories book years ago, I learned that the Kobayashi Maru scenario came up because Gene leaked out that Spock was going to die, so they did that scene to fool the audiance into thinking that was what was leaked, then bamm Spock dies saving the ship.
Also it has by far the best soundtrack as well

I'm going for Wrath of Khan as well, for many of the same type reasons that I picked "Empire" in the Star Wars board. It was a big bummer. Spock dies. The good guys win, but at a heavy price. Lots of realism, even in a futuristic, Sci-Fi setting. And you get the famous line, "The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few or the one."
Nice to see Ricardo Montalban back in action with that fake pectoral muscle implant on. That was hilarious! He had bigger boobs than some women I know! LOL!
Pretty wild to find out Kirk had a son after all those years of "getting it on" with various inter-species mates. Did David know his old man was the inter-galactic pimp? HAHA!!
ST2 is my fave from the original cast by far, but the other films did have their highlights. They wore pajamas for uniforms in the first one. Spock came back in the third one, then Kirk's son was killed by Doc Brown as a Klingon. Kirk said, "Double dumbass on you!" In the 4th one. I could've done without number five. I never wanted to see Uhura dancing naked. Maybe when she was younger, but not then. It did yield a classic line though. "What does God need with a Starship?" Part 6 was great because we got to see Captain Sulu in action with the Excelsior. Plus Christian Slater made a cool cameo in the movie too.
As for TNG, my favorite film was probably First Contact because I always thought the Borg were great enemies. Plus Picard goes mental and has a vendetta against the Borg, plus he REALLY pisses Worf off. "If you were ANY other man, I would KILL YOU where you stand!" Great line. Cool to see Deanna drunk on Tequila too. Heh heh heh.
They all have their ups and downs, but Khan and First Contact are my 2 faves from the 2 crews.

I had to go with First Contact, although I will admit WOK was the better movie. Like Speed I think the Borg are great enimies, when used right, and the Borg in FC was actually spooky. It's kind of hard to tell how spooky they are when all they do is beam aboard a starship and block pahser fire from Starfleet, but in FC we see thier dark nature, from assimilating people graphically, to the way the movie made us anticipate finally seeing them, like we have never seen The borg before. I thought that was a great tactic, og course we've all seen the Borg, but the way the movie treated them like they were new, make me anticipate finally seeing them. I also liked seeing Zephran Cochran, I admit, I am no genious nor will I ever change the world, but he reminds me a little of myself, as I could get alot done, accomplish alot, if I'd get rid of the distractions and focus more. It was also nice to see Beverly activate the EMH to distract the borg, a nice little cameo by Richard Picardo there. And Picards emotional break down was GREAT! It was nice to see such a stern diciplined man loose control, as we all do every once in a while, and the scene between him and Worf was great, you have to admit it takes a brave man to call Worf a coward to his face. And I do agree WOK was the better film, it too was very dark and very serious in nature. I believe if WOK wasnt such a great film the franchise might of died right there. BUT, while WOK was probably the better film, I enjoy FC more.

actually....the only thing i didn;t like about First contact WAS zefram Cochrane. because he appeared as a character in TOS in the Episode "Metamorphisis" and the alien "companion". he just wasn;t portrayed as anything like the original character in First Contact and having seen the character before i was disappointed although the character was certainly more fun than the original cochrane. i guess i just disliked them changing characters who have already appeared in star trek before.

See I've never seen the TOS episode with Cochran in it. But I have to ask, from which time was that Cochran from? Before or after first contact with Vulcan? If it was some time after, then I believe Cochran had settled down by this, and only acted bizarre before the launch of the Phoenix.

Well obviously they changed history with him, just like they did with Enterprise to suit what they needed.
I liked the grizzled Cochran better than the TOS Cochran though. The First Contact Cochran was more true human like than the TOS version. By more humanlike I mean he only built the ship for money, yet in TOS it seemed like he wanted to prove a point to Earth.
The thing with Cochran though, and how things were changed, when Cochran made first contact with the Vulcans originally, it was on Vulcan, yet for the movie they changed it to where the Vulcans happened to be in the area(and I would assume to still be looking for the original 3 that crash landed in the 1950's according to Enterprise). Or did 2 of them go back(1 dead) and 1 stayed behind and they had lied saying he had died, I cannot remember that Enterprise ep very clear

T'Pol's great-grandmother, T'Mir and another Vulcan left Earth, while 1 other Vulcan stayed behind because to the best of my memory, he liked it on Earth. I have that episode on VCD, but I just don't wanna watch it to check my accuracy right now. Either he stayed there because he liked it, or he died saving some miners. Don't remember. Back to the Cochrane debate, I've never seen that episode of TOS either, but from what I've heard, a few years after the 1st warp flight, and according to Enterprise, after the dedication of the warp 5 complex, Cochrane disappeared. According to my memory of TOS, he was taken somewhere far away by some alien intelligence. They kept him from aging and whatnot, which means he'd still be alive and in good health by the time Kirk met up with him. I've still never seen the actual episode. I don't have it in my TOS DVD Library. Really makes me wanna hurt the guys at my local Suncoast video store at the mall. They run out of TOS DVD's and all they ever do is order the same ones over and over. No matter how many times they sell out of volume 13, they replace it with volume 13. Same for volumes 1-6, 18, 23, 24, and 40. I've even spoke with the manager about it, and he promised me he'd order the missing ones from my inventory. That was 4 months ago. No change in TOS DVD stock....... DAMN YOU SUNCOAST!!!!!

Rest assured Speed. According my local Suncoast, starting in October, along with Voyager, they will be releasing a box set of TOS seasons as well.
From what I have understood about Cochran though, he did disappear. He left on a warp ship and awoke on an alien world where the female alien took care of him. At the end of the episode, the alien(who was omnipotent) gave it all up to become human, to show true love to Cochran. He decided to stay with her, because they would now both grow old together
I also believe the alien was trapped on that planet as well and couldn't leave, another factor for Cochran staying behind with her. Kirk promised to never reveal his existance to anyone as well.
I think it was a relative of T'pols and I do not think the one who stayed behind was killed. I know the one who returned said that he/she was the only survivor though, and that the body could not be located.

U have it exactly right on the TOS eppie. and like i said...not that the way they portrayed cochrane in first contact was bad...because it made for a good movie...i am just one of those who nitpick about changing something that came in the series before....kinda like how I appreciated how they kept everything correct about Khan....they made sure they did everything right.

Yeah they did keep Khan intact, but its kinda hard not to though.
The only complaint I have ever seen about the WOK, though is how Chekov knew Khan and the Botany Bay, when he was never in the episode Space Seed.
