I think the only decent Trek movie was Wrath of Kahn--I was so slow I almost fell asleep--and was just a remake of a series episode. Some of them where almost personal ego wankfests--remember the one that Shatner Directed which opened with him rock climbing up a sheer cliff face?

I've only seen about half of the films, but I thought "First Contact" was the best of what I've seen.

I could've done without number five. I never wanted to see Uhura dancing naked. Maybe when she was younger, but not then. It did yield a classic line though. "What does God need with a Starship?" Actually I thought the best qoute was when right after Kirk was asking "God" to prove himself, McCoy says " You don't ask the almighty for ID"

I choose: The Search For Spock. I love all those movies - except Nemisis, didn´t like it much but for some reason "The Search For Spock" just got to me. It was such a sad film - what with Kirk´s son getting killed and I liked the female Vulcan who was down on the planet with him. It was all so heart-wrenching. Two years ago, I voted for 'The Seach for Spock', but watching Star Trek: Generations I have decided to change my mind. I watched this film today again, and realised that this is the one film that has me watching it most attentively and with fascination. There is so much to this film - stuff that the other films don't have. You get the 2 captains in one movie, you see the whole crew of the new Enterprise from TNG crash-land and die with the planet they are on. You see the 2 captains going back in time, and thereby saving the crew. It's one great movie !!

I really like Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country. There were few very funny moments in this film. One funny moment was when they were investigating who boarded the Klingon ships and murdered the Chancellor. They try to find out who matches the boot. Then Chekov makes a reference to Cinderella about putting the shoe on. Then rest of the crew point down to his feet of a crew member which can't possible fit. Another funny moment was when they couldn't use the universal translators to communicate with the Klingon's. So they had use books and they were making a right mess at it. This made me chuckle.

My favourite Star Trek movie is going to have to be number VI - 'The Undiscovered Country'. Why? It doesn't have a crazy and insane storyline (not that I dislike them!) like number IV 'The Voyage Home', which was just totally bizzare! An alien looking for whales... Plus there where a few more crazy ones, but I won't go on about them! Lol. To me it was the most 'human' movie, dealing with issues that we are facing in this world today. It dealt with peace, and why some people might be afraid of it. It also dealt with the idea of two different speices making peace. Yet it showed us how we can overcome these problems, and it also taught us not to be scared of change. It really reminded me of why I love Star Trek and why I hold it close to my heart, the ideals and the deeper meaning behind Star Trek... Plus it had some brilliant lines and 'lies' by Mr Spock. Plus I just love the scene when they search the ship - dunno why but I do! Oh yeh and the music, that was brilliant! (Mind you so is the music for every other movie!) I must add I prefer the old version, not the digitally re-mastered one that they show on TV now. On the old one the Klingon blood looks more 'real', now it just looks like it was computer generated - which it was! Did anyone else notice this?

How did I miss this!?!? My vote goes for 'The Undiscovered Country', a find end to the TOS Era methinks.

I have to go with The Motion Picture, mostly for nostalgic reasons. When it came to the theaters, I was eight years old and had been fanatically watching repeats of TOS for years. I've seen it a few times since and find it to be an OK movie, but I can't help but think back to how it felt sitting in the theater with two of my brothers, seeing it on the big screen.

Although this isn't my favourite Star Trek film it still is really good. This is Star Trek VIII: First Contact.
When the film starts you see the Enterprise E and it looks really cool. The music is really nice at that start and the beginning of the film.
The space battle is really good. You see the Defiant swooping around firring and getting knocked about. Worf smacking the surface, "Maybe today is a good day to die!" Then the Enterprise E swoops in front of it. A lot of different ships are shown which is interesting too.
What I really like about the film is when hes in the conference room and throws the phaser rifle into the ships in anger. "I WILL MAKE THEM PAY FOR WHAT THEY HAVE DONE!!!"
