I'm honoured,
but I'm not sure what type of person Spock is, cause I haven't seen his shows that often to understand the fella.
But the only Vulcan I recall mind melding with Picard is Spock's father not Spock himself.
Oh well, i must have missed Spock's meld with him.

It occured at the end of Unification part 2. When Spock told Picard he regrets never melding with Sarek, Picard offers him a chance to meld with him as he has his fathers memories.
Did anyone else notice that in Enterprise the Vulcans avoid doing mind melds because its considered Taboo? That would be an interesting story right there, showing the Vuilcans accepting melds.

That's because in many millenia or maybe lesser, they never met & stayed with a race like humans, "unlogical" though theres tons out there. Humans help them see that logic alone is not 100% the way. Tuvok's Parents think Tuvok could learn things from humans, Spock respect the human illogicness, etc. T'Pol & other Vulcan's in Archer's time is the turning point of Vulcan mindmeld habits. Vulcans are still new to humans in Archer's time, theres lots of things they rather not tell the humans to lead them in thinking Vulcans aren't all logicall at all. [Pan Far, their ancestor's 100% illogical behavior & thinking "Running around naked with body covered with oil" an interesting thing to see , Romulan offshoots, etc.]

Remember though, in Star Trek 4, Sarek said he was wrong in not supporting Spock joining Starfleet, so evidentally somewhere along the line, Sarek didn;t care for humans and then decided to change.
I like the fact that Enterprise can do so much to explain the couple hundred years or so difference between First Contact and TOS, but I wish they would hurry it up as well.

Patience is a virtue, not all individuals have same believes, Sarek is an example of some Vulcans who still thinks the old way. Tuvok himself hated humans when he was young. Individuals aren't judge by the whole race. 1 race, thousands [if not millions] of diversions

I think Tuvok made the right decision ion leaving Starfleet when he was younger.
I don;'t think he neccessarilly hated humans per say, just the brashness and cockiness of humans. Even Spock made mention of that several times in TOS.
Sarek, well he was an old school vulcan until sometime before he was introduced in the TOS episode.

LOL We both got the complete opposites of what we wanted Seriously though, I always liked McCoy. His I'm a doctor not a ... lines were great and have got to be the most mimicked line in TV history.

I too got Picard as shown in an earlier post here, which makes me happy. I hope I have his personality when I reach his age. Honestly thogh, I was sure I had the personality of Lt Paris from Voyager, as I dont always follow the rules ~Myke
