Ouch... tough call here. Far too many to list, but I'll try to do a condensed version, which doesn't reflect absolute favorites, just typing them as I think of them:
1) Star Wars -- and I mean all of them. I'm seeing the prequel trilogy mirror the original trilogy right now, in that the first movie was so-so, and the second movie much better than the first. Hopefully Episode III will fare better than Episode VI (which seemed to stumble slightly to me, but that's just my opinion).
2) Star Trek -- overall, fairly decent. I didn't really care too much for the original motion picture or V. Generations, while I liked it in some ways, struck me as far more a two-hour TV episode than a movie, despite the much better special effects. Out of the rest... Star Trek II is the best, followed closely by III, VI and Nemesis. IV, First Contact and Insurrection follow just slightly behind there.
3) Aliens -- fun flicks, especially Aliens itself. This is a movie that I've watched so many times that I know when I'm gonna jump, psyche myself up to not jump... and then, when the moment happens, I still jump anyway. THAT is the hallmark of a good scare in sci-f/horror (which is about the only kind of horror movies I like, simply because of the sci-fi element), by which all other sci-fi/horror flicks are judged.
4) Matrix -- ... oh geez, I don't even know where to begin here. Matrix was great. Matrix Reloaded was better. Matrix Revolutions... sorta kinda disappointed in the ending, but otherwise just as good as the first movie, so Reloaded is my fave there.
5) Lord of the Rings -- maybe not sci-fi per se, but still an incredible saga. Peter Jackson has captured the essence of the trilogy for me, and Howard Shore's score is simply breath-taking.
6) Dune -- I'll be honest: I tried watching the first movie with Sting, Patrick Stewart and all that... and just couldn't do it. Fell asleep within an hour. Not a good sign if I'm so bored that I fall asleep like that. The Sci-Fi channel's recent take... I'm with Speed. This one has it all, very true to the book, and overall extremely well done. Children of Dune... my only complaint is that they meshed together two books to make the movie as long as Dune itself. They could have added more... but not much more, considering that, IIRC, the books weren't as long as the Dune novel itself. I still like how it was done, though.
7) Pitch Black -- definitely a fun flick.
And here is where I'll stop for the time being. If you want more of a list, then I'll write a second one up.

*snickers* I have them all as well, on VHS. My copy of Aliens is the Special Edition that they added about 10 or so minutes extra footage to.
Other mentions to my previous list:
8) Highlander -- fairly decent series overall. The first movie, of course, is the best. Second one was sorta wacky, but the third one sorta got it back on track. A pity they did what they did in Highlander: Endgame, though.
9) Predator -- *sigh* I have to wait for Aliens vs. Predator to come out in August before I get to see more Predator action. Both movies are about equal to me, although I'm silghtly more partial to Predator 2 because it's something cool: a Predator in an urban environment.
More forthcoming, if I can think of them...

I've been an aliens fan for the longest time, every since I was a child! They will always be one of my favorites. To me Alien vs Predator will be like Alien 5 & Preadator 3 Lord of the Rings is considered fantasy I guess, but I feel that fantasy and sci-fi go together hand in hand, like bread and butter ~Myke

Finally!! A HIGHLANDER fan!!!! Lykos.....Muad'dib Bless Ya!! You're right, the first one was the best one, and to get a little discussion started here, what did you think of the last one with Conner AND Duncan? I was really pissed because the Director's Cut Renegade Version (Which is the only OFFICIAL part 2 in my book....screw planet zeist) clearly states that Conner won the prize! He was the last Immortal!! How in the hell could they let Duncan outlive Conner when THEY ALREADY SAID THAT CONNER WON THE PRIZE? ? Makes no sense to me and I thought Endgame sucked. Lemme know what you think about that whole scenario.

hey now....I was the FIRST person to mention highlander......but did anyone even see my post...noooooooooooo.....so just to you .....I am taking my "there can be only one" and going away...LMAO anyway....i thought all the movies sucked except the first one...none of them really made much sense and seemed to be cheesy attempts to just make a little money off the name.

I have seen most of them at one point or another. but in movie three or so, didn't the status as being the 'only one' change when new immortals came to earth?, Therefore starting it all over again or as some would say "screwing it all up again ?" lol

Oooh... my favourite movie(s)...hmmm... "Aliens" is my all-time favourite. As far as I remember, it´s the first film were women were not cast as bimboes, idiots and/or screamed all the time. I liked the fact that the women in this film were just as tough as the men and just as equal. Also, the film was full of suspense and surprises and had me at the edge of my seat when I first watched it. "Star Wars Trilogy" with Harrison Ford is another all-time favourite. For the first time, a decent space movie was produced that was not just interesting to watch but had many surprises and was funny as well. "The Matrix" (the original film) is also my all-time favourite film. I love the characters, their moves and, very important, in this film too women were not treated like idiots. Great film with great music. I also liked the whole concept of the human race not really being what they thought they were. "Is all that we see or seem but a dream within a dream." E.A. Poe There are several more films I could add to my favourites but then I would never finish. To name but a few: Equilibrium A.I. Terminator 2 The 13th Floor

Indeed, Speed... that's one of the things that's always really annoyed me: the fact that they have no sense of continuity. First movie, it was Connor and Kurgan for the prize, the second movie was Connor and... forgot his name (whoever it was Michael Ironsides portrayed), the third was Connor and whoever Mario Van Peebles was. But Endgame really annoyed me because they brought in the TV show to the big screen and basically (to me) said the heck with the fans of the first three movies by killing off Connor and leaving Duncan there.
Don't get me wrong: I liked the TV show, sanitized as it was for the US as opposed to Europe. I thought it was a good show. But I think their first mistake was having Connor show up in the first episode, never mind what they did in Endgame. A shame, really... I honestly think that ruined the franchise almost as badly as Joel Schumacher ruined the Batman franchise with his crappy camp attempts (which is a rant thread waiting to be written).

amen to that.....tim burton did a much better job on batman.....they didnt like tim burton...said it was too dark(duh...thats what batman is) and told joel to make it more fun....and he ruined it. not to mention val kilmer sucked as batman....clooney was mildly ok.....michael keaton was the only real good one.

I agree the only good batman was Keeton.. and the last couple of Batman movies have dulled my taste for the Caped Crusader Films, with there tacky schemes and over done characters..lol ..Let a dark story be DARK already !!!
