In the newspaper i read that they may do a seventh one. It would be set one century before The Phantom Menace. It would have all new people in it and the only recognizable character would be Master Yoda. As you well know he has been training Jedi Knights for eight centuries.
It isn't certain it would happen but George Lucas said something about he would like someone else to make it rather him.
If this is true how many more Star Wars is there going to be?

I highly doubt this one. Lucas has been talking about it being done, about it being one movie instead of six, yadda yadda. I wouldn't get your hopes up.

a rumor has spread that LucasFilms will make films 7, 8 and 9 based on the EU as a live-action TV series...bad idea to me, but that's what I heard. Apparently George Lucas sold Star Wars' television rights to Fox.

Lucas already said the saga is over....there will be no more new movies because the entire saga was supposed to be about the life of Anakin Skywalker....and since he is dead now....thats the end of the movies....

Well....there will always be rumors.....and i dont know how much people would like it if it had nothing to do with the original series and didnt have lucas involved. he did a live interview on Moviefone with Christian hayden and they asked him if there would be anything else in the series and he said no...because star wars is a story of anakin...and without anakin you cannot have a series....so as far as he is concerned...Star wars is complete. I just cant imagine him giving creative control for Star wars to someone else.....so who knows...there is always conflicting stories when it comes to him and new movies....lol

Back in 1997 when he re-released the films, he said he was going to do eps I, II, and III. And depending on how he felt about them, he may do eps 7-9. Then after Ep I debuted, he has said over and over, these will be the last. One of the TV shows is supposed to cover the 20 year gap from Ep III and Star Wars, but even I don't see it working very well. I'm actually glad the movies are done, so now maybe the uber-nerds of the world can all go get lives beyond Star Wars, like the Trek uber-nerds have had to do. How ironic, that the worlds two biggest fanatics of movie franchises both end in the same year. EDIT: In fact here is an article from 2 weeks ago. Lucas even says in it, he is done. www.msnbc.msn.com/id/7830655/

There is going to be a tv show...unfortunatly...Frankly I'm proud to be a Star Wars "uber-nerd" and Star Wars will never be over, there is always the cartoons, books ect...as long as us uber-nerds stick to it, Star Wars will never die, and we will continue to be obsessed. Thank you

The books that take place after Return of the Jedi were good(5 yrs later), and so were the 10 yr later books. But Lucas went to far when he had books come out 25-30 yrs after Jedi with characters no one cared about.
Sure there will always be books and ancillary stuff, I was referring to the movies themselves, I'm glad there wont be any more for a long time.
I just wonder if there is another star wars movie 20 years from now, whether it will have new fans(IE kids then) or if it will be like going to a Rolling stone concert and seeing mostly 50+ yr olds at the show.

I think they should leave Star Wars as it is. I'm not even so crazy about Ep 1 and 2... Ep 3 was a must (even though I haven't even seen it yet )

But Lucas went to far when he had books come out 25-30 yrs after Jedi with characters no one cared about. there are tons of story out there, in fact the expanded universe on the star wars site is so vast one could make six moives easy (3 before and 3 after the movies).

I would love it.
As long as it doesn't destroy the entire series.
