Wow the walking arguement makes no sense at all. Excuse me, but this is the military, and I don't think a female soldier in combat would really be thinking about how sexy her strides look when she is going into battle. She definitely does not walk elegantly, but I doubt the people in the US Air Force would care. Carter is also supposed to be sort of nerdy and somewhat tomboyish which is quite apparent if you have watched the whole series (so far). A "barbie doll" girl wouldn't really fit that role. People often feel that her looks are only mediocre, but it suits the character.
Tapping won the 2005 Saturn Award for "Best Sci-Fi TV Actress" so obviously people are impressed with her acting performance on SG1 and not really concerned about her walk.
And yes, as some people have noticed, there is a lot of character development especially for Carter in seasons 6-8. Many of her personal feelings are revealed. Daniel Jackson kinda gets screwed over with all the dying, ascension, amnesia, dying again, etc. Not to mention what happens to him in Season 9. O'Neill's zenith was the last episode of Season 7, and then his role is gradually diminished during season 8 probably because they had already planned to take him out for season 9 (though he makes a few guest appearances). I just hope they are not making the same mistake as the X-Files.
Stargate SG1 is quite a complex series for those who have not seen the majority of the episodes. But I think its a great series if you watch from beginning to end. Makes you wonder what the government really does with your tax money.
