I just simply can't understand why anyone would choose SGA over SG1. I can't stand Atlantis, aside from Mckay, simply because he is originally part of Sg-1 history. Sheppard seems like a poor clone of O'Niell. Teala is a copy of Teal'c, even her name starts with a T. I'm not saying the SGA is completely horrible. I understand the point about RDA, but I believe the supporting characters can carry on without him as long as the writers keep the show interesting. I've decided to stick with SGA at least until the end of season one, but I'm already starting to lose interest.

I hope they make some midcourse corrections. They need to make Atlantis stand on its own. SG1 has had a LONG run. It can't last forever.

I'm not happy about RDA being in only four or five episodes (maybe), but at least Amanda Tapping will be in the last fifteen episodes. If stargate runs through season ten it will be the longest running scifi series. It's the right series for such a title.

I'm crossing fingers, eyes and toes that it is approved for season 10, too!

I can't stand it anymore. I'm upgrading our cable service tomorrow! SG1, SG Atlantis, Battlestar Galactica. That's IT! Most of the SF we watch right now is on DVD. It's going to be tough getting used to commercials again... Thats what I love about Tivo I am so pumped for Friday now. New eps start again

Thats what I love about Tivo I am so pumped for Friday now. New eps start again We're toying with the idea of getting a R/W DVD player with a hard drive. I'm torn. I love the few shows I bother to watch, but hate making the TV any more of the "house shrine" than it already is. By the time we decide, they'll probably have come down considerably in price and there'll be something even cooler to think about buying instead. Yeah...Fridays...drool!

I pick stargate on the hope that there will be more chances foe General O'neil to go off world like when he had to go get the puddel jumper from the planet Maybourne is the king of.

No General O'neil will never go on many away missions now he is the "General". Plus becuase he is a main charcater they will have to keep a lot of the episodes on base so the cameras will show him. General Hammond never went on away missions so that will probaly be the to O'neil. Although if the episdoes do concentrate on base they will still be exciting.

is there a "both" option cause in my mind both are really good. If you like SG-1 you will also like Atlantis,if you like Atlantis you should like SG-1 too.

I guess i will pick atlantis just from the point of I have actually seen most of the first set of episodes so far so I have a pretty good idea of whats going on....I think out of like 8 seasons of stargate....I have only seen about 20 total episodes....all recent ones....so i really dont have a clue about whats going on with a lot of the background of the story....

Same here, I'm all caught up on Atlantis, but struggle to keep up with some of the hard core SG-1 fans here as I'm still relitivly new to the series.
