This is a good question.
Hmmmmmm, I'm having a dificult time deciding. I mean they each have thier positives to list, and each are good shows in my opinion.
Atlantis's first season isn't even over yet (I don't think) so that makes it extremely hard to compare the two.
SG1 can also do storylines that Atlantis cannot, because they are based on Earth, yet there is a mysterious elelment to Atlantis, that SG-1 one dosen't have.
LOL so hard to choose.

I prefer Atlantis becuase its a new idea and the battles with the raith are really good and intresting. SG 1 the episodes seem a bit repetitive.

I've always thought this, I think Atlantis has the potential to be the DS9 of the Stargate franchise. And those Wraith are really cool.

I go with Atlantis because its new and there is so much that they can do with the series that they never tried with SG-1
On SG-1 it got to be the same old same old after about 3 seasons, where as Atlantis can go anywhere and everywhere and not have a way to get home to Earth, unlike SG-1 where they seem to be limited on exploring where the gate can take them.

Personally, I think that Atlantis is repetitive in that it is just a copy of SG-1 but with a different kind of enemy. I just saw the episode where those guys are all dressed up as farmers... yawn... All I can say is, I have seen it all before in SG-1. So... you know which one I voted for. LOL ;D

It was a tough decision, but I went with SG-1. It's more established than Atlantis is. Now when Atlantis get a season or two under it's belt I may change my mind Kapt~`'-

ah...where's the "other" option? lol.
I personally can not pick. Because I love them both...they both have good and bad things about them. But if I had to pic...I'm talking there is no way to get out of it. I would go for SG1...they've been here the longest and have given us some really great eps. So I'll vote for SG1

Star Gate SG1. I like Atlantis and all, but SG 1 is the one that I turn up and tune in to. During Atlantis I tend to surf the web at the same time, multitasking.

I have my shows like that, some I'll be online and mutlitask while I watch, others I make sure I'm doing nothing except staring at the TV. When were not on these breaks, Friday nights are usually my nights, due to The Stargates and Enterprises, and soon Battle STar Galactica, after the Stargates.

I can't stand it anymore. I'm upgrading our cable service tomorrow! SG1, SG Atlantis, Battlestar Galactica. That's IT! Most of the SF we watch right now is on DVD. It's going to be tough getting used to commercials again...
