yeah really for me it was i saw Atlantis first,and really enjoyed it,then i started watching SG-1 after that,and found it totally addicting

That's almost how I did it. I have no idea why I never got into SG-1 before. When I heard Atlantis was coming out, it really inrigued me, so I decided to go back and get caught up on SG-1, then discovered that I really liked SG-1 a lot!!

yeah,thats exactly the same way with me,i never got into it at first,but after seeing Atlantis,now i do and i got into SG-1 too.
I still havent seen all the episoeds of SG-1 though.

Geez...I'm such a purist. I won't even WATCH the current SG1 or Atlantis seasons until I catch up.
We really messed up DS9 because we were too busy changing diapers at the time. Honestly, hubby and I both thought DS9 was BAD. Until we watched from episode 1 onward on DVD. Now, DS9 is hands down my favorite Trek, though TOS is a photo finish.
I want to watch these Stargate series RIGHT, from beginning to end, never missing an episode. Doing anything less really is a disservice to the efforts of all the artists involved in bringing the episodes to life.

thats true:) while im waiting to rent the Season 1 DVD though im watching whatever episodes air on the Sci-fi channel
