Interesting....still sounds like they are quite a ways off and it sounds like they could only cover large objects like vehicles or structures.....but still....sounds interesting... ;D

Imagine driving down the highway and rear ending an invisible vehicle

Didn't they use that "trick" in one of the latest Bond films, where the car (was it the car?) became invisible?

I honestly cant remember.
Imagine talking to the insurance agent though if you did reaer end an invisible car
agent " didnt you see the car in front of you?" you " no, it was cloaked" agent "stupid cloaking devices are gonna cost insurance companies millions"

Yep... I just checked. In "Die Another Day", the latest Bond movie with Pierce Brosnan and Halle Berry, his car had a cloaking device. ;D

This one is actually not bad. I am not a Bond fan but watched this one because I was sitting next to my husband who is a Bond fan. LOL It plays partly in a hotel that is completely constructed of ice... for that alone you should watch it. ;D
You know.... MYKE !! We could maybe have a Bond forum if enough peeps are into HIM !! LOL

Any board is possible here if enough people want it. This invisiblility/cloaking thing sounds really cool. My only fear would be it's military use. Imagine cloacked nuclear warheads...

That is pretty scary. But the emissiopns coming from the rocket engine propelling the nuke would be a dead giveaway.

That is the curse of the human race - namely yours... Everything that could be used for good is used to kill the enemy even more sufficiently and with greater impact...

That's a very good point. Somehow though, you just know there will be those who will try to get around it. That is true. But if it does come to that, we will have also found ways around that. (e.g. look in infrared vision for missiles instead.)

An invention like that could be very dangerous in military terms, they would have to make sure evemies and oposition dont get wind of the invention and use it against them. Its a good idea tho, could be very useful.

If James Bond can have an invisible car, why cannot the Enterprise be made invisible using 24th Century technology - this would not violate any treaty with the Romulans about the Federation not making cloaked ships, or would it?
