I went and saw The Village today and I give it about a B rating. Typical of his last movie Signs it is very heavy in the drama and is a bit slow.....but...is still very good. There are several shocking twists in the movie that you never ever see coming....especially near the end of the movie. If you are willing to sit and pay attention to a good movie and want to think a bit....then go watch it....you will like it....just don;t go expecting something overly scary or adventurous....

I want to see it myself. I love all of M Night Shamalyn's (sp?) movies thus far, and really enjoyed Signs. I liked the fact that in todays age of CGI and such, that he left it to my imagination to scare me. I thought the movie was perfectly done. It's like the original Alien, for the most part we had to use our imagination, and that is part of what made that movie so good in my opinion. In Aliens, it was a bit scary when thier motion detectors went off, and we only got glimpses of the aliens in the begining, which made the movie more scary, but although I liked Alien Resserection, it was no where near as scary as the first two, due to us seeing the aliens all of the time.
So I thought Signs was done perfectly, and by the time the alien appeared in the end in thier house, it was a spooky treat.
Is The Village is like that, then I'll love it as I love to have to sit there and really think hard about a movie!!

All I can say is: It´s not out here yet... Hmm that's odd, I thought they were going to start releasing all movies at the same time to cut down on piracy some. That's what they should do at least.

Hmm that's odd, I thought they were going to start releasing all movies at the same time to cut down on piracy some. That's what they should do at least. Nope, they sure don´t do that. And I have seen the trailer for a while now - not sure if it´s just another "scary" movie. But what I have found is that often, when a film is released in the US, it´s released shortly after in Germany and quite often, it´s not out in England for several months after that. I remember seeing a couple of movies while I was still in Germany and when I moved back to the UK, only months later, after I already lived here for a couple of months, did the film come out in the UK. So you see, they don´t release the films in the cinemas all around the world at the same time. However, they do release the DVD shortly after the film has been shown in cinema. Usually it took a year or two before you could buy the film on DVD or video. Now it´s only a few months later. And I think they do that because they want to avoid piracy. If the DVD is on the market shortly after it´s out in the cinemas, then people have no need to get a pirate copy to watch at home.

oooooo, I really wanna see this one. I can't say I liked Signs...I thought it was kinda dumb, but I really enjoyed The Sixth Sense. I really like those unexpected plot twists like in that movie, so I'm looking forward to watching this film. Hopefully I'll get the chance to go to the theater soon!

M Night Shamalyn is the master of deception and plot twists. I was blown away when I saw the 6th Sence, that's the first movie like that I've ever seen, amazing. I also liked Unbreakable with Samual L Jackson and Bruce Willis, those two have great chemistry, and again, it was an original movie, with an original story!!

I thought "Signs" was a real yawn. But I did like "The Sixth Sense" very much. But I think "The Village" will be different, more like "Sleepy Hollow" perhaps?

I loved the Sixth Sense, and Signs was good, but not suspenseful (in my opinion) at all. I still need to see the Village but my friend saw it and scared the hell out of her. lol But then again, she said that Signs scared her just as much. So chances are it won't scare me.

I can't remember the last movie that really scared me. I grew up with Freddy, Jason, Myers, Aliens, ect. So I was adapted to it all pretty quick. I'd love to just once decide to leave my lamp on dim on night before bed because I saw a movie that got me thinking.

nope...NOTHING like sleepy hollow..lol Hmmmm.... Sleepy Hollow was quite spooky - and funny, the way Depp acted. LOL I have seen a couple of B Movies where a group of young peeps go for a weekend into the woods and one of the runs over a kid and kills him and the father goes to this woman who wakes this monster to come after these kids.... That was spooky too. Anyway Wolf, stop teasing me. I will be seeing it soon enough and it better be spooky. ;D
