Yes... all of this is very true. All I am saying is that whenever such a debate as this comes up, the name "Hitler" or WW2 is automatically mentioned. There have been others, just as horrific in their deeds and in fact there are many people still alive in certain countries - South America has them for example - where people still live in fear and get taken away and tortured in a way that is unimaginable to us. So why not try and find some of those names and use them. And of course there was Mussolini and Stalin, to name but two. And do you people know that it was the British who first invented the concentration camp in South Africa? OK, I am done. By no means did I wanted to defend Hitler, far from it. I have no idea what he was thinking of... I just wanted to say that there are so many more evil people (past and present) but for some reason, the only name anyone seems to remember, is "Hitler". Additional: I am glad no one has - so far - screamed at me for raising this point but contributed in an adult manner. Thanks. I only mention this because when I spoke of this on other boards, I was thrown into the shredder. LOL But that doesn´t stop me from voicing my opinion.

well...we have a good group here.... no throwing you into the shredder just yet...lmao anyways....the only reason people come up with the name Hitler first is that is the name everyone knows.....you dont learn much about mussolini or stalin in school when it comes to history...WWII is a big subject....and of course who was the big villain...Hitler of course...there are tons of movies about hitler and WWII...u have the diary of anne franks....when i was in school I remember watching the made for TV movies like Patton and so on. Hitler has just become the main embodiment of evil in todays world and its only natural his name would come up first....and unfortunately that wont change for a long time...maybe 30 years down the road people will think of saddam or Bin laden when they think of evil....but as of today...Hitler is still the man.

I have a difficult time accepting the fact that the French couldn't back us up during the whole Iraqi War. If it weren't for us, they'd all be speaking German right now! Paris had been taken by the Nazis for God's Sake!
But.....I can understand where they're coming from....since I'm not a fan of the war myself. I support our people over there and hope they make it out alive. That's about it. I think we're fighting over oil when we could be sitting here advancing hydrogen propulsion systems or anything other than what we have now.
Star Trek needs to become reality......SOON.

I did mention that I am known and feared (as is my sword) throughout the universe? LOL Additional: The reason I prefer my members not to talk about politics and religion is because, quite often, it seems to get out of hand. I also find that quite a few people when, for example, they talk about WW2, act as if they have been there themselves? It´s history for all of us, so why not see it as such instead of displaying such an apparent hostility?

I've noticed political and reigious discussions getting out of hand in various forums, all over the web, almost 79 times out of 80. Like Wolf said we do have a good group here, still yet, I watch these conversations very carfully. I've never understood the animosity these topics cause. Perhaps because they are parts of our so called reality as opposed to fantasy debates, but nevertheless, emotion does tend to become involved in these conversations. Just remember everyone, to play nice and not offend each other. We all have different opinons, and that diversity is part of what makes us a good group, for if we all thought the same, Temporal Reality would be a pretty boring place. ~Myke

The reason I don´t do that is because I prefer not to voice my opinion of other countries even though there are one or two things - if not more - I don´t like about certain countries, and which other people seem to be quite willing to do. *darn it, can´t find that "cry" smilie again* LOL

I understand completly Yeah, I don't think anyone's been offending people but sometimes people do get offended by others who honesty are not trying to be offensive, so this is a prelude of what 'can' happen. I rarely debate politics myself, because to be honest, I am severly missing alot of the facts, so my points would just be aimless opinions, based on practically nothing. I think when the Borg smilie assimilated the blue smilie, he secrety assimilated the 'crying' smilie as well. As if that crying smilie wasnt sad enough already, he gets a dose of assimilation on top of his bad luck ~Myke
