Even though Enterprise has taken a beating in the ratings lately, and the storyline is getting on my nerves, I voted for it. I guess I'm giving it the benefit of the doubt based on the first two seasons which I thought were great, and the past few episodes, which are thankfully advancing the Xindi Storyline to its conclusion.
More specifically, I chose Enterprise because it's set in a time of relative unknowns about the Star Trek universe. Why did Kirk insist on having a Vulcan Science officer? Maybe he repsected what he knew of Archer and T'Pol's relationship and wanted to continue the trend. Why were humans and Klingons so pissed at each other all the time in TOS? Maybe from the incident that happened in "Broken Bow" with Klaang and the NX-01's first mission. How did the Andorians get admitted to the Federation given their long conflict with the Vulcans? Still unanswered, but we can obviously infer that we Humans played a big role in bringing about peace and cooperation between the two worlds.
There are a lot of possibilities for Enterprise once this season is over and I don't want to jump on the bandwagon and say they're down for the count. I love the characters on the show and I love the actors that portray them. Plus, knowing what we already know from TOS, TNG, DS9, and VOY, it's fun to watch the dynamics of the initial encounters with known species. The Andorians, The Klingons, The Ferengi. It's also fun to watch Archer and crew engage in first time visits to places we already know. Like Qu'Onos, the Klingon Homeworld, or Rigel 7, which is basically a resort planet.
I believe and hope beyond hope, that Enterprise is going to get back on track after this season and become an exciting series for fans of StarFleet history such as myself. I was impressed that in episode 3x17, "Hatchery", that Captain Archer actually referred to the "Eugenics Wars" in which Khan Noonien Singh left Earth in a DY-100 Class sleeper ship only to be retreived by Captain James T. Kirk years later. When these tiny references to things we already know appear, they add continuity and stability to the Trek universe we are all familiar with. I truly love Enterprise because we are getting to see so many StarFleet "firsts." Hopefully in the seasons to follow we will see many more of these "firsts" and begin to piece together how the Federation was born as well as where and when certain bits of StarFleet Technology came into existence. We already got to see "Phase Pistols" which are the precursor to "phasers." Maybe we'll get to see the upgrade to "Photon Torpedoes" in the near future.
We also have the "Temporal Cold War" Storyline to return to. I understand that Lieutenant Daniels is going to make another appearance in the next few weeks, and I for one am chomping at the bit to see if the "Cold War" is going well. Also, in the next few weeks, possibly even in the same episode as Daniels, there is going to be an episode entitled "E-Squared". (Is there a button on the keyboard for the superscript version of squared? If so I am unaware...) In this episode which Paramount is keeping tightly under wraps, The NX-01 is rumored to encounter a temporal anomaly and run smack dab into a meeting with........ANOTHER ENTERPRISE! Hence the title "E-Squared" meaning Enterprise Squared. Will it be NCC-1701, 1701-A, B, C, D, or E? Or could it be the NX-01 from another time or reality? I am anxious to see.
Even though it's ratings are currently suffering and I am not crazy about this season, I think as a whole, Enterprise is a wonderful addition to the Star Trek Universe and I would love to see it complete a 7 year TV run. I hope this was helpful in explaining my pick for Enterprise as my favorite Trek series. I also hope I was able to change the view of anyone who thinks the series has gone in the crapper. Give it a chance. It's about to get really great!

I choose Voyager. It was Voyager that lead me to 'really' discover Star Trek, even though I had watched various episodes of TNG when I was younger. Beyond that though, I think voyager is my favorite is it has a special feel to it, outside of the other series, and the fact that voyage is lost in the Delta Quadrent, on thier own, cut off from Starfleet brings that something extra special to it. I like every characer on the show, and love many of the storylines, ecspecially the ones that deal with temporal phhysics, such as Year of Hell. Voyager is a good escape for me, as I find myself lost in the episode each time I watch! Heh, not one of my best posts or explinations, but it's late and I'm extremely tired causing my brain to be foggy ~Myke

Enterprise.
All the previous Star Trek series have been set so far in the future, it's nice to have something a bit closer to home, so to speak. It's creates a bond between people and the series because it's not set on 2371 or what ever, people feel the can "relate" to it easyer than previous series. Though if you as me they are all good - With the exception of DS9 and TOS

Red Spider! What's not to like about DS9 and TOS? I thought DS9 was a welcome addition to the series allowing a vast amount of storytelling with plots that sometimes affected the entire Federation (i.e., TNG and Voyager). And, I'll agree, TOS wasn't quite as scientifically accurate or as polished as all the spin-offs, but without it, there would be no Star Trek at all! You gotta give it some props there!
Personally, I have yet to find a ST series that I can't enjoy. Sure, I'm more partial to Enterprise and Voyager, but I love them all when you get right down to it.

Voyager was my gateway into Star Trek. DS9 - well i hated it, the characters, the storyline, the whole concept. Star Trek should be on ships not space stations

You have to think though Spider, that there are many departments of Starfleet and The Federation. I'm glad they made a show about a different department, it gave us a larger perspective of the Federation. Didnt you like the Dominion War either? Now if every Trek series took place on a space station, then I'd complain, but out of 5 series, 4 of them are starship based ~Myke

Yeah, i'll agree with you there. Paramount broke the "mould" when they made DS9 'cause every previous ST series had been on a ship, i suppose thats wahat there best at! (as well as making ST series, Obviosly!)

I think it's great for Star Trek to "branch out" to other areas of the Federation. I personally would like to see a series based on Star Fleet Academy. Training young cadets and watching them grow into officers and then watching them command Ships, or stations. I think this would be a vessel (no pun intended) that could extend the life of the Star Trek franchise far beyond my years.
In my opinion, there should be a Star Trek spin off on television at all times throughout all eras. It would give humanity something to shoot for, plus satisfy all of us sci-fi fans that are craving new and exciting stories and events!

That's a good idea Speed, ecspecially in what is a 'dark time' for us Sci Fi fans. Our Genere is taking a beating by Reality TV, and everything else related. First it was those million dollar games shows, and that evolved into Reality TV.

I am going to have to disagree with a few people because IMO DS9 was the BEST trek series outside the original. I thought the whole concept was great and the stories behind the characters were so in depth. I LOVED how Sisko despised Picard....blamed him for the whole Wolf359 incident. Kira, Odo, Dax, Bashir, were all GREAT characters and I thought had much more history and personality to them then TNG ever did. The wormhole was a great plot setup...not to mention the cardassian war and let's not forget Garak the shopkeeper/spy. Quark and rom...the grand nagus. the changelings and the Jem Hadar. what is there not to love? IMO the Dominion war was one of the biggest and most interesting events in federation history. so....IMO DS9 is just one of the best things to ever happen to trek.
