Ah, another one! ;D Actually, I'll let you into something, in Doctor Who speak used amongst fans, a story arc is actually several stories, whilst "The Deadly Assassin" as you just mentioned, was just one story. It's how the BBC made them in the past; all multi parters. Ah, thanks for that. Would the term "serial" be used instead? Well, that's what they do on Wikipedia, but it depends on personal preferences. I prefer to choose the word story, others adventures, whilst some even prefer to call them Arthur. ;D (Ok, so I made that last bit up. ;D )

Latest news is that David Tennant is giving up playing The Doctor. He doesn't want to get typecast. BBC are looking into the possibily of Robert Carlyle as a replacement. www.thesun.co.uk/article/0,,2001320029-2006600210,00.html Sorry to be the bearer of bad tidings, especially at this time of year.

IF it turns out to be true I think they seriously need to get a longer term committment from the next Dr Who so they don't keep using up these short lives. This next regeneration would be his 10th and he only has 12 according to their own mythos. So they would only be able to have 2 more actors after this and at this rate this means the show would only last a few more years before having to either be killed or have it's own mythos distorted to accomodate having more than 13 doctors. They wasted a whole life with Paul McGann for just one movie and then with Eccleston since he only lasted one year. Pick someone who wants to stay around like Tom Baker, he did it for like 8 years, now that is what the series needs, some actor continuity and not wasteful lives.

Exactly, but maybe the doctor is the only TimeLord that can have more than 13 regenerations

Exactly, but maybe the doctor is the only TimeLord that can have more than 13 regenerations As a devout fan of the series: The 13 Lives Rule MUST be obeyed and WILL be obeyed! The Thirteen Lives Rule was established in the 1976 story 'The Deadly Assassin', and for the Doctor to have more he'd need to fiddle around with the right equipment, which was on his homeplanet, which is gone. So, he's stuck with 13 I'm afraid. Unless the Time Lords are brought back or course, then only maybe...

There is a new spin off series called Sarah Jane Adventures. The special episode will be played on the 1st January and a series will follow. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Sarah_Jane_AdventuresIf this series is anything like Torchwood then I will be very disappointed.

I apologise for giving misinformation but The Sun was the only source I could find on the net but was not my original source. Sadly, I couldn't confirm my information from that source on the net at all therefore I used the one I could. My information said that he was going to do another two and half series then go. I do agree that The Sun is not a reliable source for anything and since we never buy it I actually hadn't read the article. Once again, my apologies for the misinformation.

Don't worry, we'll know for sure if and when it's posted up on the BBC Website. Only then will it be official.

Might be some other sites that start confirming it though before the Dr Who site though. Official websites are notorious for not wanting to confirm negative rumors until they absolutely have to
