But that is the way the Gate works. If they did the way you are saying they should have, that would have been unrealistic. It doesn't make sense that way. Of course it makes sense. After all, every single person who goes through the gate, does so as an entity, NOT as a whole (the group). Therefore, anything not part of the ship that was stuck in the gate should have been able to go through without trouble.

I forget alot about this episode. It made sense to me when I watched it, but I forget why they said they would never 'rematerialize' if they went though the gate before the ship got unstuck.

I forget alot about this episode. It made sense to me when I watched it, but I forget why they said they would never 'rematerialize' if they went though the gate before the ship got unstuck. They said it was because only the whole ship can go through, not just a part. But it was actually never discussed whether or not the humans can go through - it was just assumed that they couldn´t. What they did with one guy who had been insured and died was, throw him through the gate and he was apparently in suspended animation on the other side, while the crew was trying to get the ship through. It just didn´t make sense to me. On the other hand, I can see the point that you cannot leave the ship alone because the front part was stuck inside the gate, so in order to get back to Atlantis, I guess you would have to be able to first leave the ship altogether... that would make sense to me. But, as I said, it was never discussed.

I just saw another episode - where the team goes to a planet where the people kill themselves when they reach the age of 25... As I had feared all along, Stargate Atlantis is just a copy of the SG-1 series. I already got tired halfway through SG-1, seeing the team going through the gate and each time encountering people who looked like people from Earth from an earlier time, and helping them in one way or another. Yawn... why bother... Hasn´t it all been said and done in the original series?

That's where we have a difference of opinion. I don't think it is any more of a copy of SG-1 then Voyager was a copy of TNG.

My favourite episode is the last epiosde of season 7 becuase it seemed like Earth could have been destroyed and the battle at the end was pretty good. But i didn't like it when Jack O' Neil got frozen i thought that was the end. (but it wasen't.)

Shame on you, Myke. I thought you were flawless? LOL I've really only made one mistake in my life. It was a long time ago, I thought I had made a mistake, but I was wrong, I didn't.
