Dr. What's his name was talking to Major Sheppard and says something like "Don't be going all Jim Kirk on us"
Then Sheppard gets the girl, and what's his names says "my God. He is Jim Kirk"
Or something similar to that. It was pretty funny

Wish I'd seen that! I watched Allegiance from Season 6 last night. There weren't any trek references that I caught but WOW! The things I did catch. At the beginning of the episode a bunch of Tokra refugees come pouring through the gate to the Alpha site after a disasterous conflict with the forces of Anubis. Three Tokra die shortly thereafter of their wounds. There is a Tokra funeral scene. The 3 bodies are laid out on a platform in front of the gate. The camera pans up to them and just as you think "hmmm...that's a little familiar looking" you hear four notes of one of the Star Wars themes. The one that is played just before Vader's pyre is lit. And just before QuiGon's pyre is lit. Just 4 notes but unmistakable. To me. We had to back up the DVD and let the rest of the family hear it again. BTW the Tokra funeral involved the bodies being enveloped by the shockwave of the stargate activation. Whoosh! At the end of the episode Bratak holds up an ugly number of a knife (sorta like a klingon knife a little more refined). He gives this passionate speech about how this knife that had been brought by an assassin to destroy the Jaffa, Tokra and Tauri's trust in one another, had instead brought them together as comrades and brothers. Very Jaffa and very honor-drenched. Just when you think he's going to hold the knife up and say something like "He who pulls this blade from this stone will be High King", instead he throws it downward, and it's buried practically to the hilt in the dirt at his feet. End of episode. AWESOME! Didn't I write just the other day that when you see Bratak in an episode get ready for some serious Jaffa angst?

Saw a couple more of these - Wanted to name the X-303 Enterprise
- John De Lancie (already mentioned, but I hadn't seen it yet)
- Has anyone noticided similarities between Replicators and Borg?
Kapt~`'- Saw the episode where O'Neill wanted to name the X-303 Enterprise tonight. Carter cut him off before he could even spit it out. "Why CAN'T we name it Enterprise". Resigned head-shake from Carter. There were some great little interplays between O'Neill and Teal'c in that episode, also. They've got a case of gourmet ice cream and no freezer, so Teal'c and Jonas are scarfing it down. O'Neill comes in, sit's down, nonchalantly grabs a fork and tries to grab a scoop of Teal'c ice cream, all the while talking about their mission and plans. Teal'c "protects" his ice cream and keeps it out of O'Neill's reach while he fishes a new pint out of the case. O'Neill starts eating, all the while talking and gesturing with Jonas. Teal'c doesn't say a word, completely focused on HIS ice cream. Then just before the scene ends, he smoothly substitutes his nearly empty tub for O'Neill's almost full tub. I was thinking that it could be hazardous to stand between Teal'c and Troi and a hot fudge sundae.

LOL...I remember that episode...it's one of the few I have seen recently.....and that WAS kinda funny.....Teal'c gave O'Neill a look that was like, "Touch my ice cream and I will and I'll force feed you a symbiote".

Yeah...I LOVE it when we get to see a new side of Teal'c's personality and his exploration of things Tauri.
The ice cream, the magic fingers, and the mortal combat in jello are my favorites (so far).

Tonight I saw the very end of an apisode with some really funky looking people and they used this machine to save sam...and then they were going to repair their own bodies...but at the end O'Neill made the comment something like" Oh Dorothy the wicked witch is dead" and when they looked at him funny he tried explaining The Wizard Of oz to them....lol

You know? The writers must sit and just laugh when they're writing the scripts for these shows huh? ;D

I watched that show last night too! The Wicked Witch was Niirti. Another Goa'uld bites the dust.
As they were about to leave the planet, I think he said something like "Back to Oz". Blank stares from the inhabitants. "Its...from that movie..."

I record all these shows on my DVR and watch them when I get a chance Kapt~'-

The Star Trek franchise caught hold of the wormhole concept late in DS9 - in Stargate it is an integral plart of the show. Reaching other planets without a space ship. The silly thing about Stargate SG-1 is that a sophisticated computer is need to dialup to other planets, but retrurning is easy - each gate has its dialer. Another silly thing about Stargate is that all the 'aliens' are human except fo rthe Asgard - a blunder which is found in Star Trek also. In Star Trek it is far in the future so there are Universal Translators, so it is possible to understand what the 'aliens's are saying. But Stargate is based on the present, how does one explain all the 'aliens' speaking perfect American English? On another issue Gouul'd are creoss betweeen Klingons and the Borg.. - imagine if there is a crossover episode in which the Borg encounter the Goul'd or the Replicators - who would win? Why is the US military using the Stargate? Stealing advanced technology from alien races - interesting.

Maybe this thread should be titled Star-Trek-Wars-Gate?
In season 6, there was the Tokra funeral that was oddly similar to the Jedi funeral ceremony (including the music).
Tonight I watched "Fallen", Episode 1 of Season 7. The X-302 dodging around the death gliders, and then skimming over Anubis' ship to launch a couple missiles down a vent tube to disable Anubis' new weapon had Star Wars-parody dialog, Star Wars-parody CGI of the battle, and even Star Wars-parody music.
What a trip!
