Has anyone else noticed the similarities and connections between Star Trek and Stargate? I've only been watching Stargate for a brief time. I wish I had been watching longer, but I wasn't able to get it on TV until recently
Anyway, I keep seeing similarities. I've seen three Trek actors, I've heard them mention "Red Shirts," O'neil has asked about phasers, and there was a Bat'leth hanging on the wall in the background
Anyone else noticing things like this?

Have you seen the episode "1969"? If not, I won't ruin it for you.
Also, I know that Marina Syrtis was in at least one episode. Haven't seen it yet, but I know it's coming (I'm partway through season 3).

Jolene Blalock was in SG1 this season, and Colm Meany was in a few episodes of Atlantis as well. Pretty cool! Also, when they got to Atmatis, after the premier and the first rael episode, they found a Transporter type device, and Major Shepard said something like; "We need to get to the Transporter...... ok... we'll name it later" LOL, and you just knew during that pause the characters were thinking Star Trek.

There are quite a few Wizard of Oz references, too. Ones I've noticed in the 3rd season:
-- "Where's the yellow brick road when you need it?" (might have been 2nd season) -- first one I noticed.
-- "Auntie Em, Auntie Em?" from "1969".
-- "Not Exactly The Emerald City", upon seeing "Hell" when they go to rescue Sam's dad from the Goa'uld of the Underworld.
-- "There's no place like home", said by someone OTHER than O'Neill -- can't remember the episode offhand.

Whoa! We watched the episode "Urgo" tonight, and Urgo said (while disintegrating) "I'm melting, I'm melting!"
We are waiting to hear...
"If I only had a brain"
"Lions and tigers and bears, oh my!"
"I am the great and terrible (fill in the blank)"
"Ding dong, the witch is dead"
...

Jaffa voice: Mach'tel Oz kri... Other Jaffa voice: Kel'tak shri tel ma'nak! Jacob: Alright we're almost finished. Daniel: That's good, because I don't think they bought my act... Jacob: Why? Who did you say you were? Daniel: The uh... great and powerful Oz... ;D

There's bond to be some cross-pollentation eventually. It hasn't gotten too out of hand yet.

Mirina Sirits makes four Trek people then. Cool!
I love the way they put in all this crossover stuff it's cool
Anyone remember that cartoon Gargoyals? Remember all the Trek people that lent their vouces to that?
Johnathan Frakes, Mirina Sirits, Michael Dorn, Colm Meany, Avery Brooks, Kate Mulgrew, and several others I can't remember now

Mirina Sirits makes four Trek people then. Cool! Actually, more lke seven Trek people (as far as regulars and major recurring): Colm Meany, Jolene Blalock, Marina Sirtis, Rene Auberjonois, Dwight Shultz, John DeLancie, and Robert Picardo. Also, Ronny Cox was in Trek (Captain Jellico in "Chain of Command", TNG), but that was a one time guest appearence.

Ronny Cox made a really good "nasty, powerful, egotistical senator" didn't he? Just the right sort of episode before two motherships descend upon Earth to wreak havoc.
Actually it was a two-time appearance on TNG because that was a 'to be continued" episode.
Totally off the beaten path, but the "Urgo" episode had a slight flavor of "The Prisoner" at the very beginning. Something about the music. I'll be listening for future echoes of the Prisoner.

I never knew Trek people leant thier voiced for the show untill a couple of months ago when my daughter was watching it on TV and I was listening while online. I heard Kate Mulgrew's voice, and no one could misake that voice anywhere, lol. I started paying attention and recognized Jonathan Frakes voice as well. Was a pretty cool discovery for me as I never knew they were on that show.

Was a pretty cool discovery for me as I never knew they were on that show. I once did some research on it and had a list compiled of who had done it, but I don't know what happened to the list. The names I listed were just some I caould remember off the top of my head. I know there's several more Kapt~`'-

Saw a couple more of these - Wanted to name the X-303 Enterprise
- John De Lancie (already mentioned, but I hadn't seen it yet)
- Has anyone noticided similarities between Replicators and Borg?

When I first saw the Replicators, the name obviously reminding of Trek's food dispensing machines. I do see a simularity between the Replicators and the Borg though.
