There are those who believe we are alone in the infinate universe, that humans are the only intelligent life out there, and there are those who believe we are but just one small part in an intergalatic community. Which do you believe? Considering there are so many solar systems out there that there must be a planet that had good enough conditions so that an alien race can live on it, but i doubt an intergalatic community. (with Xenomorphs, there would be no community)

I think that other intelligent life forms are out there; we just haven't met them yet. It'll take a while, but we'll meet them.

In a couple thousand years. Or maybe tomorrow. Either time frame would be just as probable. Or maybe never. With the age of our universe, there may be thousands of intelligent space faring civilizations, but not a single one of them may exist at the same time. For example, there could have been an intergalactic empire that went extinct a million years before humans existed. We may be the only intelligent species in existence right not, but in a billion years a new species may emerge that takes to the stars. But of course due to the size of the universe, while I believe there has been space faring civilizations that no longer exist now, and believe there will be some who have yet to exist, I still think there are thousands of worlds with life, with a good chance that a few of them are intelligent life. There's nothing to say they haven't mastered space travel yet, but they may not have discovered Earth yet, or they may have discovered us and are staying away due to our violent mature. We are a world who is at war with itself, we as a whole are not ready to join any intergalactic communities.

You're right. We just need to get every country to join the United Nations. Then we might solve the problem of the wars between countries.

At this point in time, I'd think the only aliens who would show an interest in us would be hostile ones. The more enlightened peaceful ones would definitely avoid us.

Yeah, with this 'war on terror' I haven't really seen much progress. Have you?
