Alien: Fantastic movie. By far the scariest, but not the best. The storyline was great, the animations and characters were good. But one thing I noticed that's pretty funny but dumb... (pointed out by the DVD commentary of season 4 on Futurama), at the start of the movie Ripley gets out of bed in a pair of white undies. At then end when she gets into the escape pod, she's in the exact same pair of undies. Just wanted to point that out. Also I want to point out how much the book is different to the movie. In the book, Dallas is found cocooned in the air ducts, he's not killed. Also differnet events happen in different places and times. My fav character is Ash, because no matter what the crew do, they can't get him to tell them how to kill the alien. It also cuts out a bit from the book where Ash sees the Alien in the air duct, and he has the chance to launch it into space, but he doesn't. Aliens: Probably the best. The action, suspense, and sheer velocity of this movie puts it up with the best. I like the way how almost each of the surviving characters of the first slaughter have a heroic death: Hudson, Gorman, Vaskuess, and a few others I might have missed (haven't seen it in a while). The scariest bit is when Hicks is looking up in the roof with the torch, and he sees abut 20 aliens crawling towards him. Makes you sh!t your pants first time seeing it. Literally Alien 3: Not bad. The worst out of them all. Too much swearing, but it's still got a good plot. It's a very funny movie I think, how at then end when they're running around in the furnace yelling at each other, it's so funny what they yell and do. It cracks me up. Alien 4: Fantastic. Absolutely awsome. My favorite. I love Ron Pearlman "Hey! You wanna die here with all your little brothers and sisters, that's cool! But I plan to live past today!" The graphics and animations are a rareity in movies these days. It's disgusting at the end though how Ripley kills the yellow thing... yuck. Don't want to explain it. But I don't like it how the black Oh... and the funniest thing about them all, is that in EACH AND EVERY ONE OF THE MOVIES, and alien bursts out of a character's chest. Also there's one person who dies a brave death in each one: Alien: Dallas, in the vents Aliens: Gorman, when he goes back for Vaskuess in the air vent, and he pops out the thermal detonator, and blows himself and her to hell to save the others. Also Hudson, who, after being scared sh!tless through the whole movies, shows some balls when he stays behind and shoots up the aliens. Sucks how he gets pulled down through the floor though... Alien 3: Dylan (the black guy) who holds off the alien to let Morse and Ripley climb up the compactor walls to escape. Alien 4: Brendan, when he cuts the rope holding him and the crippled man together, causing Brendan to fall back into the pool below, allowing the cripple to climb the ladder. P.S. My fav scene in the whole quadrilogy is in the 4th, when Ron Pearlman sits up on the ladder, just finished shooting the alien, and he comes face-to-face with a spider web, which he yells at, recoils, points his pistol at it and fires. The sheer "gah!" he makes when he sees the spider makes me cry with laughter. Whoa... this is biggest post I've ever done in my life!! Took me a good sixteen minutes too...

I love the Alien trilogy and think they really shouldn´t have made a fourth film. I agree in that I think the second film is the best. But the first one is a must see in order to know what´s going on. The third film was also not bad and I even had tears in my eyes when Ripley sacrificed herself at the end of the film. I didn´t like the fourth film because everything was said and done in the three previous films. Ripley was dead and the scientific team, lead by Bishop, didn´t get their alien. I also couldn´t believe my eyes when I saw that they had cast Wynona Ryder as an android - in authority, no less. Now... I liked her in Beetlejuice but as a person in authority? I don´t think so. Also, I didn´t like the fact that the alien gave birth to something almost human-like. The mask looked dreadful and I didn´t like it one bit. There you have it.

Yes, I agree with you both on this. The first and second films were the best but the other two stink so bad, I would never buy the Quadrilogy. lol.

I love them all equally. Except for the part in the second one I think it was, where that guys dog gets killed by the alien. lol I'm twisted, I know. I get way more sad when animals die than humans.

I love the alien franchise as a whole, but Aliens - part 2 - has to be my favorite. That is a PERECT, PERFECT movie, in every way. All of the characters were great, ecspecailly Hudson whining all of the time. I liked Newt, a little girl mixed up in that whole mess, Marines and aliens.
I also loved how we got two endings basically, Ripley facng the queen to save Newt, and once she succeeds you think it's all over, and think it's a good movie with a good ending, but bam, then Bishop is ripped in half and a last battle happens. I have to say again that Aliens is a perfect movie, I never get tired of watching it, and yes the scene where Hicks looks up in the celing with a light, and see's a platoon of aliens comming at him is scary.
I liked them all actually, they all fell into two groups, the first one was a single alien, with a defensless crew, as was part 3, while part 2 and 4 have soldiers with weapons, but more then one alien.
Ron Pearlman brought alot to the 4th one, but then again he is such a cool actor.

Ah yes, the Alien saga was good. I get annoyed though when they keep showing the first three on TV - edited, no less. I HATE EDITED MOVIES! That aside, I don't remember the first one that much - wasn't born when it came out...I don't think - uh when DID it come out? Second - Hudson, gotta love Hudson. And that one guy who was a higer rank than everyone there but had no actual field training - lol Third - Mmm, that poor doggie. Fourth - Surprise, she was cloned! Like, the first successful clone of how many attempts? Whatever. And I'd like to know what was so bad about Earth after all that time? Remember when someone told them the ship was automatically set to go back to Earth - What's-his-name was like "Earth? I'd rather stay here with the things!" There's my warped take on it. ^

I'd have to say I enjoyed them all as well, but Aliens is still my favorite, and I'm anxiously looking forward to Alien Vs Predator.
In fact, I think if we ever found alien life out there, they would resemble these aliens more then they would little green men.
There is alot I don't know about them though that I'd like to, like what planet they come from, what type of planet, what is thier food source, what other animals live on that planet. They seemed to breathe oxygen, but thier acid blood says there were perhaps another type of life, other then carbon. .. .

A dog got killed in the third movie, Ember. That was where Ripley landed on the prison planet. You mean crashed on the prison planet, Val And that's what I don't like about the third one, Hicks dies! I've got the DVD and in the commentary they say "we origionally had it so Ripley goes into a coma and Hicks is still alive and he's the one who fights". I agree with Myke that bit at the end is so cool and then Ripley comes out of the cargo bay in the giant mecha suit and says "get away from her you BITCH!" that's the best line in the whole trilogy. I also love the music when she's climbing up the airlock ladder. But it's bollocks how she hang by her arm on the ladder her arm would have been ripped out of its socket and she would have fallen to her death. But it's still cool. The music is the best.

Yes Oliver, I know she crash-landed on the planet. But land she did. And regarding her arm that should have ripped out of its socket? Well, don´t all these films show people with super-human abilities where they can do just about anything without even getting hurt? I don´t like this kind of "cheating" either. To me it has to be at least to a certain extend realistic and plausable but what can you do?

I guess you're right, but then again it was pretty realistic for a fiction movie like that up until that point.
How good is it when Ripley says "you did good Bishop" and Bishop says "I did" Then he looks down at the acid burning the floor, and then POW his chest just explodes and the alien's tail comes poking out

And that's what ruined the third and fourth at the ends, when they drop the lead on the alien in the compactor (no. 3) it jumps back out. I love how Morse goes "haha! I hate bugs!" and then it jumps out... also the fourth one that stupid human alien thing was so lame... and I hate it in the third how they kill the warden, he tries to save Ripley and they shoot him to hell. (he hits bishop with the pole to stop him) Also I love in the third how they call the warden 85 because that's his IQ...
