I have a ques tion. Where did the Aliens originate from? I know it was from that alien ship that was on LV-426, but where? That is a good question, hudsonwhiner. I have wondered about that myself, for years. Exactly where did that Dark & Mysterious Extraterrestrial Craft come from? It probably came from a planet somewhat similar to the 1 featured on the movie DUNE (1984) , but perhaps much more advanced and EXTREMELY bizarre, without a doubt.
Anyway, I voted for the first two ALIEN movies as my favorites, hands down. I mean, one obviously has to see the first ALIEN movie to even understand ALIENS, ALIEN 3 and ALIEN: RESURRECTION. In ALIEN, we learned how Humans first discovered those parasitic eggs, and what they basically do. I could not get over the awe and splendor of that wierd derelict ship, or jockey ship, as many would call it, that Kane, Dallas and Lambert discovered crashed in the mountains. I am sure that vessel was decades old. The remains of that pilot reminded me of an elephant almost. Let us not forget that vast, dark storage tunnel that Kane first discovered all of those eggs - before he himself got infected. That place was HUGE. As bad as it was, I thought that the scene showing the baby alien coming out of Kane's chest was WELL DONE. All of that faked blood splattered on the crew, without their even knowing. Also, I liked the confrontation between the remaining crew members and Ashe - the guy that turns out to be an android. Ever since Ashe stopped Parker from stabbing the alien hatchling on the dinner table when Kane died, I began to think that Ashe was just plain wicked. I was glad that Parker toasted his tail.
I happen to have the special edition of ALIENS. Man, it was sweet. From it, I learned that Ellen Ripley HAD a daughter, who grew old and died 2 years before her mother returned home. (What a shame. ) The movie then focused on Hadley's Hope, that colony on LV-426 - before it became infested with those nasty bugs. It had scenes of people inside the complex going here and there, and speculating on the rumors of a certain discovery... Also, Newt - the little girl that Ripley & the Space Marines end up rescuing - is seen with her parents and her brother. They got out to that SAME, strange jockey ship that had crashed in the moutains, and this time, Newt's father ends up being infected. Thus begins all of the real alien drama on that planet's colony. After Ripley, Burke, Newt, Bishop and the remaining Marines set up shop in an office after their first battle with those bugs, they activate a self-defense mechanism. Any strange object that came within a certain perimeter was pulverized by some fully automatic weapons. MAN, THAT MESS WAS SWEET! The hallways became an awessome shooting gallery as some aliens tried to find any Humans hanging around. I enjoyed hearing them screamed as they got shot & killed. That scene alone was my favorite scene on ALIENS. Like in the first movie, there was just so much tension throughout ALIENS. It would have had me going to the bathroom a lot. Also, when Bishop and Ripley theorize about the possibility of a queen's existence at the colony, Private Hudson (yes, your man, hudsonwhiner) says that she probably runs the whole show of bugs, and that she is badda**. Ripley seemed to hold her own very well while rescuing Newt before Hadley's Hope blew up, and while fighting the Queen Alien on board the Sulocco. The Nostromo, Sulucco and U. S. S. Aruega were all great ships, too.
However, I did not care too much for ALIEN 3 or ALIEN: RESURRECTION, though. Ripley died in 3, and I really did not see the point of scientifically bringing her back in RESURRECTION. ALL of those scientists were so OBSESSED with studying that alien; they caused more problems than it was worth. I do have 1 question, though about ALIEN 3, though: When did Ripley get infected? Was it when she was sleeping in the Sulucco? How come the facehugger was not still on her face when she landed on Florina, the prison planet? Also, how were the scientists able to clone her in ALIEN: RESURRECTION? After all, in ALIEN 3, while the queen alien was hatching, Ripleys body went soaring down to the firepit. Did the scientists find some blood of her somewhere?
I would like to know the answers to these questions. Are there any diagrams and/or models of that derelict extraterrestrial craft in ALIEN available? I know that H. R. Giger has a hand in its design, so I was wondering if his company was selling anything that resembled or referenced that bizarre craft. That was the wierdest yet most spectacular spacecraft that I have ever witnessed. Also, is it true that there is an FIFTH ALIEN movie in the making? Why, what is the point? What is the new ALIEN movie going to be about? Like I said, if anyone can answer any of these questions, then please let me know something as soon as possible. One can send a response to my also. Thank you very much.
