Alien Resserection was Alien 4. Just like Aliens is really Alien 2.

roman a clef? Who's in disguise? Uh, the name Alien Misdirection, which was used in a previous post, was roman a clef for Alien Resurrection.

Alien Resserection was Alien 4. Just like Aliens is really Alien 2. True, but someone said that they liked Alien Resurrection better than "Alien 4". I was seeking clarification on this.

Sorry for the great confusion; I didn't realize that roman a clef was an alien concept on this thread. Let me start over. Uh, wasn't Alien Resurrection the fourth movie? Now, how was that? Ok when i said it was better than the forth it was meant to be better than the third and i have corrected it. That little mistake sure caused confusion.

That little mistake sure caused confusion. Which is a short trip for me... FWIW, I felt that Alien³ was more realistic than AR was. Sure it was a grittier movie, but it had to end somewhere before it got just plain silly.

People say no. 3 was the dumbest because they had no weapons. Well, of course they had no freaking weapons, if the prisoners got hold of any and killed the guards, where the hell are they going to go? Into space? Duh! Alien 3 just had too much swearing. It was still good though. I love how at the end they're all running around in the furnace But morse is the only survivor

People say no. 3 was the dumbest because they had no weapons. These were the same people who were expecting Aliens². Their attention spans can only grasp explosions. I know, because on the IMDb, people ask questions about things that they would know if they were watching the movie between gunfire. As compared to the fancy vocabulary supplied by the Colonial Marines?

As compared to the fancy vocabulary supplied by the Colonial Marines? I wouldn't say everyone, I happen to think Aliens was better than alien3, but I did not only pay attention to the explosions. I just think it was made better, had a little bit more work and detail added to it. I think the main reason why i think the third alien was a flop was it really melted the flow of the story between all of the aliens movies, for example, it killed the girl that Ripley had gone through so much to protect, it killed the one guy that she first fancied and right after she just went to bed with the doctor? no remorse? her character was a little weaker in that one than the others. And as for the language I think they were experimenting with how many times they could say the *F word before the audience left lol, not worse than aliens, just less variety, haha. Also I don't think they will stop making Alien movies, though I hope they don't take the Riply character through any more, I liked her so much in the forth one, (it made up for the third one) that I'm scared they will ruin her again. Appariently Hollywoods goal now is to remake and sequel as many movies for as long as possible, Ran out of ideas I guess...

What? The marines don't swear half as much as the prisoners do.

I can't remember the Marines swearing that much. Sgt. Napone had a few colorful phrases, but he was also a Marine Seargent. They are supposed to swear, lol.
Private Hudson just lost his mind from fear, and whined alot. That isn't a bad thing, I loved Hudson in that movie, Bill Paxton did an excellent job in my opinion.
Ripley called the queen alien a bitch, because she was more angry then scared, and the Queen was about to kill little Newt.
I think the swearing in Aliens fiti n nicely, as in it seemed natural, and didn't seem like it was there just to be there.

Neither did the swearing in Alien³ seem inappropriate. Sure, it may have been more than in Aliens, but, it wasn't uncalled for, especially Morse's affirmation after the Warden was snatched up by the alien.

If theres swearing theres swearing. If there were aliens trying to kill you how many swear words would you say. Hmmm... 100. Maybe more. Swearing makes it more realistic. If you saw someone saying, "oh dam there an alien coming" it wouldn't sound realistic.

In all honesty, those aliens are some of the scariest creatures I could ever imagine confronting. I think I'd be so scared, I couldn't run.
Remember when Hicks stuck his head up through the ceiling and saw them coming? Or when Gorman and Vasquaz (sp) were in the ventilation shaft, and they were running after them? That would scare me so bad my hair would turn white.
Also, even the face huggers were scary. When Burke trapped Ripley and Newt in the medical bay, when she was on the floor on her but crawling backwards with the sprinklers on, that face hugger that was running right for her. That was good cinematography, and was quite creepy.
