Would you be interested in a new Star Trek series set 80 years into the future, like TNG was after TOS? A whole new ship, maybe Enterprise J, with a whole new cast and crew and all new quadrent politics?
I could see this being a good thing, and a bad thing. It would be good in the aspect that they would no longer have to worry about messing up the timeline, they would have new freedoms as the future is not wrote.
I also think it could be a bad thing, because ny the end of Voyager, there was nothing thier technology couldn't do. I mean if the universe was going to collapse, anyone who had a deflector dish and Tachyon beam could become an instant McGyver to save the day. Thier technology got a little too advanced towards the end of Voyager.
But reguardless, would you like to see a new Trek series set in the 25th century?

as far as I am concerned.....they can keep making new Trek series forever....as long as you have good witers the franchise should be able to sustain itself forever....

Okay...so in the 25th Century the problem isn't some kind of subspace anomaly, gravometric field, or temporal rift. Does that mean all the problems are solved?
If the answer were yes, Would there have been a Nemesis (admitteldy a lame movie in a lot of ways)...but...the evocative thing about Star Trek was the interactions between...uhhhh...life forms, not the big gaping maw of the week waiting to swallow ships and star systems whole.
The shapeshifters could be transformed in some unseen way by the joining of Odo, for good or ill in terms of the Alpha Quadrant
The Emissary could show up anywhere, anywhen.
Human beings could get OVER their silly prejudice about 35 million casualties of the Eugenics wars and get serious about genetic enhancements.
The civilization that sent Gary Seven to 20th century Earth is still out there waiting to be discovered.
Stars still fall along the mainline spectrum, eventually threatening all life in the system and beyond.
Plaguesl, diplomatic crises, relationships, new dimensions of the multiverse revealed,
And somewhen, the seeds of the time wars are planted, to bear fruit over 400 years hence.
I'm ready for the 25th Century. Bring it on!

I would have rather seen them do that then a prequil like Enterprise. While I really like Enterprise, I just think it's following the foot steps of Star Wars. Warsies all over the internet are still gloating about this one

A series set in the 25th century would encounter problems.
First, establishing a new crew. For the most part, we have seen all the possible crew scenarios. We have had starships, we have had a space station, we have had a starship stranded on the other side of the galaxy trying to return home....
It might not be easy to establish a crew that many people can relate to. In the 25th century, things have changed so much that there is not a whole lot that people can relate to.

What about a series set in the 29th century, with Starfleets Temporal Division? Correcting timelines each week?
While it would be interesting at first, would the same ol scenerio get old after a while?

LOL...I already had that idea kinda....something along the lines of Sam Beckett leaps into the body of Captain Archer only to wake up later realizing he is just Scott Bakula having a bad nightmare.....

I've heard of the show, but I've never actually seen it. It sounds like something I would enjoy, me being a huge time travel buff and all.
